Queensboro Bridge

The Queensboro Bridge in Manhattan is a Beaux-Arts through cantilever truss bridge spanning the East River and Roosevelt Island. It was designed by Henry Hornbostel, Gustav Lindenthal and Leffert L. Buck and Completed on March 30, 1909. Up until 1957 there was a mid-bridge trolley station station where passengers could take an elevator down to Roosevelt Island. This photograph was taken on June 8th, 2022.

Built in 1741, St. John's Church is an active Episcopal church located in Richmond, Virginia. It was here that American politician and orator Patrick Henry gave a speech at the Second Virginia Convention on March 23, 1775 that ended with "Give Me Liberty Or Give Me Death". The church is a designated National Historic Landmark 1961. This Photograph was taken on May 18th, 2022.

Richmond Main Street Station

Main Street Station was built by the Seaboard Air Line Railroad and the Chesapeake and Ohio Railway in 1901. The Second Renaissance Revival building was designed by architect Wilson, Harris, and Richards. Main Street Station was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1970 then designated a National Historic Landmark in 1976. This photograph was taken on May 28th, 2022.

The Virginia State Capitol is located in Richmond and houses the oldest elected legislative body in North America. The building was designed by Thomas Jefferson. Construction began in 1785 and was completed in 1788. In 1904, the east and west wings were added to house the growing Senate and House of Delegates. It was designated a National Historic Landmark in 1960. This photograph of 2nd Floor rotunda and Statue of George Washington was taken on May 16th, 2022.

Completed in November 1931, months ahead of schedule, and $3 million under budget, the Bayonne Bridge cross the Kill Van Kull in a single arch-truss span. It connects Bayonne, NJ with Staten Island and provided 150 feet of clearance. At 1,675 feet the Bayonne Bridge was the world's longest steel-arch bridge for 45 years. It’s "sister bridge," the Sydney Harbour Bridge, span is 25 inches shorter. In 1977 the New River Gorge Bridge in West Virginia surpassed the Bayonne Bridge in length at 1,700 feet. In 2019, the Bridge’s roadbed was raised to increase Navigational Clearance by 64 feet without changing its iconic parabolic arch.

The CPV Woodbridge Energy Center entered operation in 2016 and has a generating capacity of 725 megawatts, enough for more than 700,000 homes. It is a 2x1 Combined-Cycle power plant featuring Two GE Fast-Start 7F 5-Series gas turbines and A D-11A Steam Turbine. It was built on a former Brownfield Development Area which remediated the land of a long abandoned Heyden Newport Chemical Corp. manufacturing chemical plant.

Existing high rise bascule bridge will remain in operation. Construction began summer 2018 and scheduled to be completed July 2021.

Two Through Truss Rolling Lift Bascule Bridges over East Branch Elizabeth River Norfolk, Virginia. NS Bridge 5 the Western (left) bridge is a Warren Through Truss Bridge built in 1908 by Scherzer Rolling Lift Bridge Co. of Chicago, Illinois for Norfolk & Western Railway. The Eastern (right) bridge is a Warren Through Truss Bridge built in 1947 by Scherzer Rolling Lift Bridge Co. is abandoned in raised position.

Union County Resource Recovery Facility

The Union County Resource Recovery Facility, operating as Covanta Union, LLC, is located on the banks of the Rahway River. It began commercial operation in June 1994 and serves the residents of Union County, New Jersey. The 22-acre facility processes approximately 1,500 tons of solid waste each day into enough electrical energy to power some 30,000 homes and businesses.
