We're celebrating our journey from the very first Christmas Open House on November 1st, 1998, to our upcoming 25th Anniversary Open House on November 12th, 2023!

Every October, SBA honors the milestone achievements of today’s women-owned businesses.

Happy 1st Anniversary to Mark and Davita! Love was definitely in the air at Mark and Davita's wedding last fall at the family's apple orchard, and we were thrilled to be a part of their special day! Our very own Christine, the groom's talented aunt and owner of Hilliard Floral Design, created all of the stunning flower arrangements in rich autumn tones, featuring orchids, roses, hydrangea, and berries, among other beautiful blooms. The setting couldn't have been more picturesque, and we're so grateful to have been a part of such a beautiful celebration of love. Congratulations, Mark and Davita! 🍂🍎🌹

❓What do you do and how do you do it?
🗨️At Hilliard Floral Design, our main activities involve the sale, arrangement, and delivery of flowers and related products. We assist customers in choosing the right flowers for various occasions, create visually appealing floral arrangements, and offer personalized customer service. We also provide advice on flower care and we offer additional gift items to complement the floral purchase. Delivery services are available to ensure that arrangements reach their intended recipients. Overall, we focus on providing beautiful and meaningful floral experiences for customers.

❓What's your business story?
🗨️Hilliard Floral Design was born out of a fortuitous opportunity when my husband and I stumbled upon a flower shop for sale in the charming area of Old Hilliard. At the time, I was the manager/designer at a shop in Grandview but looking for something more fulfilling. Recognizing the business potential, we saw this as the perfect chance to embark on a new entrepreneurial venture. Driven by my passion for floral artistry and the desire to create a unique shopping experience for customers, I took the leap and decided to make Hilliard Floral Design a reality in November of 1998.

❓What advice would you give to other business owners?
🗨️Remember that starting and running a small business requires dedication, adaptability, and perseverance. Continuously educate yourself, stay abreast of industry trends, and be open to learning from both successes and failures.

❓ Why did you choose Hilliard?
🗨️Having been a resident of Hilliard, and having children who attended Hilliard City Schools, I felt Hilliard would be an ideal location to open a small business due to the growing and vibrant community, and strong local economy. Additionally, the area offered a high quality of life with various amenities and recreational facilities.

❓When you're not working, what do you like to do?
🗨️One of my greatest pleasures is spending quality time with my family, particularly my grandchildren. During the summer months, you can often find me poolside, engrossed in a good book. Additionally, I have a green thumb and find comfort in gardening. Tending to plants, nurturing them, and witnessing their growth is a fulfilling experience for me.

Happy 1st Anniversary to Lauren and Kevin! It feels like just yesterday that we had the honor of creating the most beautiful bouquet for your special day at the Franklin Park Conservatory. The bride's choice of a looser, organic bouquet in deep purples, lavenders, peaches, and ivories was a dream to design, featuring enchanting Juliet garden roses, delicate ranunculus, fragrant lavender, and ethereal helleborus among others.
