Every dahlia bloom tells a story. My journey with these flowers began when I moved to Hillsboro in 2016. Their beauty and character caught my eye, and I started with just one - a white one that did not have a name. I was hooked!

Each dahlia's journey is a labor of love. From pulling the tubers in November, keeping them cozy through the winter, waking them up in spring, and babying them all summer long, seeing them finally bloom brings me absolute joy. It's a year-long process of patience, care, and beauty.

Sharing dahlias with my community is my way of spreading joy and advocating for locally grown flowers and small businesses. There's something magical about the wild and free bouquets I create—no two are ever the same, and that's what people love about them! 💐

Flowers are more than just decoration. They play a significant role in self-care, bringing happiness and reducing stress. Even as I work with them every day, I remind myself to enjoy their beauty at home. The presence of fresh flowers triggers the release of dopamine, lifting our spirits and bringing a sense of calm and joy. 😊

Tips for keeping your bouquet fresh!

🌻 Snip the ends and replace the water every 2-3 days

🌻 Keep out of direct sunlight

🌻 Remove flowers as they wilt to keep other flowers happy

Your bouquets should last 6-7 days on average, but often much longer!

Oh how I love dahlias. I can't be the only one, right?

This year I am growing 400 dahlias (over 100 different varieties) and I can't wait to walk the rows and just harvest all of them for bouquets.

Pictured first is Cafe Au Lait (the 👑), and she is a stunner. Being a dinner plate variety, she is on the large side which cuts down her vase life but boy does she shine in that time.

Swipe left to see Bride to Be. The first dahlia I ever grew that started me on this crazy journey. I had a lot of leftover Bride tubers this year so I potted them up and once they start budding up I plan to sell them at the flower stand. Who else wants to start their addiction with the one that pulled me in?

Our first workshop of the season!

Flowers at the Farm: Evening Workshop at Ramirez Riverside Farms

Join us for a delightful evening of creativity and floral fun at the picturesque Ramirez Riverside Farms. This workshop will bring together flower lovers to learn the art of arranging beautiful summer flower bouquets using local flowers grown here on our urban farm in Hillsboro. Zinnias, cosmos, sunflowers, snapdragons, feverfew, and gladiolus - to name a few.

Enjoy the warm atmosphere of the farm as you connect with fellow flower enthusiasts and embrace the creative freedom to craft your own "wild beauty bouquets." Guided by our philosophy of wild and free arrangements, you'll leave with a stunning bouquet to take home in a vase.

After the workshop, take the opportunity to explore the farm store, featuring unique products made by the farm's owner, Brianna, along with a variety of vintage items and local goods from other businesses.

This workshop offers a perfect night out for self-care and creative expression, no experience necessary!

What a year it has been so far! Year two of our flower farm has been an absolute delight. We’ve grown so many beautiful Oregon blooms, creating countless bouquets that have brightened homes throughout Hillsboro and our neighboring communities. Though several months of our season remain, it has already been a season filled with so much beauty.

Next up are our sunflowers, and I can’t wait to share the various varieties with you! 🌻
