Alacrity Photography Husband & Wife photography team We are Bryan and Ashley of Alacrity Photography. We met in the winter of 2007 in a camera store, of all places.

After a few weeks of chatting, we realized we had actually met each other four years earlier, online! One year later, we built our photography business together and in Fall of 2009, we got married. Shortly after our wedding, we traveled from Wisconsin to Portland and fell in love. We just knew we would live there someday! Five years later, we made it happen. After six months of enjoying our new ho

me in the Pacific Northwest and years and years of trying, we got the best news we could ever imagine… we were going to be parents! Scout is silly, adorable, and the light of our lives. Five years later, he became a big brother to Raven, our sweet and handsome little guy. We are an adventurous outdoor-loving family and we believe getting kids (and adults) out into nature is so important. Whether you find us hiking trails, visiting parks, or taking pictures of the night sky, our biggest priority is to make beautiful memories together and connect as a family in all the amazing backdrops mother nature has to offer.

Testing out some Fuji 400 film in an old Nikomat 35mm camera. 📷

A few months ago, I spotted this awesome billboard in front of House of Vintage in Portland for the upcoming 2026. The festival artwork was created by local Portland artist , and the event is happening this weekend, July 16th–19th, at Camp Tasty’s in Sandy, Oregon. Check out their Instagram for festival info and tickets.

While I was taking photos that day, I also ran into local artist and asked if I could take his portrait underneath the billboard. I love the random moments photography brings, the unexpected connections, and the honest conversations that happen along the way.

and are such a great part of the community. Portland and the Pacific Northwest have such incredible art and music communities, and I love being able to capture little pieces of them.

A few more frames of on Fuji 400 film.

and I had crossed paths once before in the heart of the Hawthorne District in Portland, and I appreciated hearing his stories, having a good conversation, and seeing his art.

It was rad running into him again by chance underneath the Shady Pines Festival billboard. As he walked by, he recognized me, said hello, and asked what I was taking photos of. I told him he could be my test subject since I wasn’t sure how the film would turn out with this old camera.

He casually played his handmade 2-string guitar, which he created and painted himself, while sharing stories as I took photos.

We adore owners Kristin & Jason! They’re funny, real, honest, and genuinely kind humans.

We enjoy chatting about cooking, music, and local produce from the Portland metro area. Their store has such a welcoming, family-oriented vibe. We took a couple digital photos of them and two 35mm film photos of Jason.

Shopping local is rad!

Check out their store in Aloha.

We first photographed Marley when she was in kindergarten.

In October 2025, I flew to Iowa to photograph their family and take Marley’s senior photos. It was wonderful to reconnect, meet Hailey, and document this exciting chapter as Marley prepares to graduate in 2026.
