Alacrity Photography Husband & Wife photography team We are Bryan and Ashley of Alacrity Photography. We met in the winter of 2007 in a camera store, of all places.

After a few weeks of chatting, we realized we had actually met each other four years earlier, online! One year later, we built our photography business together and in Fall of 2009, we got married. Shortly after our wedding, we traveled from Wisconsin to Portland and fell in love. We just knew we would live there someday! Five years later, we made it happen. me in the Pacific Northwest and years and years of trying, we got the best news we could ever imagine… we were going to be parents! Scout is silly, adorable, and the light of our lives. Five years later, he became a big brother to Raven, our sweet and handsome little guy. We are an adventurous outdoor-loving family and we believe getting kids (and adults) out into nature is so important. Whether you find us hiking trails, visiting parks, or taking pictures of the night sky, our biggest priority is to make beautiful memories together and connect as a family in all the amazing backdrops mother nature has to offer.

Flying out of PDX at 5 am to Iowa for 2 days to photograph an old friend and client! Katie has been part of our journey since we first started our photography business, and we captured moments of her and her daughter when her daughter was little. (When we both lived in Wisconsin) wow, time really flies!

Recently, Katie posted on Facebook looking for a photographer for her daughter’s senior photos. I jokingly said yes, and Marley agreed she wanted me to fly out and take them. And we made it happen! 💛

So happy I had a moment to meet this beautiful soul and musician, .

He’s incredibly down to earth, with a great stage presence and an infectious smile! When he plays guitar, he’s constantly moving and tapping his feet and I love the raw emotion that pours through his lyrics.

We had such a good conversation after his live performance at PNC Live Studios for I love having real, deep conversations with people, especially creatives I can truly relate to.

We talked about parenthood, the creative process of writing music, and how we’re both trying to be more mindful with our kids, encouraging them to express themselves through art and music, and to find healthy outlets for things like ADHD and depression.

Hey, it’s me Ashley! I am learning so much about myself during this first year of being in business full time (personal & business)

✨ “I try my best to stay professional, but let’s be honest...

I should probably advertise myself as the hot-mess-mom photographer 🤪 juggling too many things, saying too much, and just trying to keep coffee in my cup and batteries charged.

I’m detail-oriented to a fault (a little OCD, recovering perfectionist here 🙋‍♀️), learning every day to let go, to breathe through the chaos and remember that not every shot will be perfect… and that’s okay.

Some moments aren’t meant to be perfect, they’re meant to be felt.

I love seeing my clients come back for mini sessions year after year, watching their families grow and their stories unfold. But full storytelling sessions are where I can really breathe, connect, and photograph with intention. They give me space to slow down and create from the heart and honestly, that’s also why I looooove film photography as well. It forces me to pause, be present, and trust the moment.

Here’s to the blur, the belly laughs, the windblown hair, and the beautiful mess of it all. That’s where the real magic lives. ✨📸❤️
