The PDX Saints Love Fundraiser Gala is fast approaching on Thursday, March 6th!

We're so grateful to everyone donating their services, time, and resources to make this event a success, PDXSL has sold more tickets than anticipated so we need a few more dessert and centerpiece donations!

If you are a local area baker and would be willing to donate to this amazing event, please DM me! If you're not a baker but would still like to donate in some way, you can purchase desserts from your favorite local baker and we can arrange pickup of these donations!

The month of September 2024 was so full of amazing weddings - it feels like it was much longer ago than five months!

Managing the details for T & C's wedding was so much fun for so many reasons!

1. I had been really wanting to work a wedding at Crag Rat Hut. The views of Mt. Hood are just amazing!
2. They had two of their pups join the fun, (I love it when the dogs attend) and I got to finally work with Tails & Vows!
3. We were worried about rain but the sun showed up and we had a nice hot afternoon and comfortable evening with an incredible sunset!

There were many additional fun moments (meeting a new DJ, bubble guns and light wands on the dance floor) but getting to know these two incredible women and their friends and families was the best part of the whole experience!

I can pull a wedding together in a few months if needed, but I really enjoy when we have a year or more to work together. Getting to know my clients and their passions and dreams makes their day almost as sentimental to me as if I were a guest!

It really depends on how big your wedding is!

The greater the headcount, the greater the LITERALLY EVERYTHING. Logistics, labor time, labor costs, everything.

2025 marks our sixth official year in business, though we coordinated our first weddings in 2016!

It's fun to see how much I've changed the way I do things to manage my business and myself, to see how styles have changed and what has stayed the same (buh-bye farmhouse... and still we see "day-of" terminology hanging on for dear life!)

As we roll into year six/nine, I'm taking additional steps to clarify my brand and what I provide, and being honest with myself about what has been working and what hasn't!

This week we're launching new CDS logo/branding efforts - it will take me a bit to get everything switched over but I'd rather be working on it than waiting until everything is done (because I am the ADHD-er that will never finish).

We're also officially dropping the term "coordinator" as a role describer, I am an event planner and event manager.

Yes I coordinate your logistics, in addition to managing vendors and their needs, managing the setup of your decor and details, and making it all happen on a timeline that I have usually created (with input from all the vendors).

"Coordination" does not properly encapsulate everything we do as event managers, and as we continue to work to articulate the value of our services, utilizing industry-appropriate language is a big part of that shift.

I'm moving to one event planning and management package option, rates still based on headcount, and all the things you need or don't need in the add-on section.

What's changing then? Being honest with myself and admitting that 90% of my "coordination-only" or "day-of" clients basically received my full planning services at a heavy discount. Which isn't fair to my clients paying the full planning rates, and isn't fair to me.

The wedding industry isn't a scam. Our time and energy is just as valuable as our clients' - and figuring out how to charge for our expertise, experience, and talent is a steep learning curve.

For anyone still around six/nine years later - thanks for joining me on my adventure and I hope you stick around for more!

We are so honored to be helping to facilitate the annual fundraiser gala for PDX Saints Love coming up in just over a month on March 6th!

This non-profit organization provide real-life compassion to our houseless community on a daily basis and considering the political climate and the way government funding is being violently dismantled, this fundraiser is more urgent than ever.

If you would be willing to support this incredible cause, please consider attending the gala, Thursday March 6th at The Evergreen Ballroom from 5-8p.

Your ticket includes dinner by Rip City Grill, one drink ticket, raffle entries, and the opportunity to hear testimony from those who have benefitted from this program on a real level.

I'm sharing this photo for several reasons.

One is that I love it. I love when clients have their photographer stay until the very end to capture all the last moments and tired weirdness (we stan an end-of-party-flatlay.👏)

Second, this was one of ten events I coordinated in 2022 while working a 50hr/week job the first part of the year and running a venue and a multitude of social media accounts the rest of the year. It was a lot.

Third and most significant, this wedding is where I met two of my literal Vendor Besties, Joelle and Sorcha.

The amount of creative work that has come from those two connections alone in the two years since is some I am most proud of, but I'm also proud of how our friendships have pushed us in our businesses as well.

Looking forward to celebrating our third friendshipversary with these two, this fall!

2025 Event Season is off and running! Our first event was a private dining experience in a series for a client working on developing an app to bring hosts and guests together. We’re so excited to be consulting on this project, providing design and rentals for the meals, and mentoring the hosts in basic design, event flow, and logistics. We sold out the first event with six guests and it was a wonderful evening, made all the more special by Alexis with @flowercateringpnw who personally designed our meal and served it with love! It's alllll about collaboration! When I'm not working for my own clients I take a few shifts making things pretty for other people, and one of those people is Erin with @powerofloverentals ! We get to collab on projects once in awhile but I'm also happy to show up with a "Magic Maker" shirt on and help bring Erin's vision to life! Teamwork, community, networking, and friendship are so important in this industry!

Persephone has a thing for pomegranates… and Hades is here for it! This styled shoot was the inspiration of Emili of Beyond the Veil Events and I was just along for the ride! I spent my day delivering the cake on behalf of Sorcha, styling fruit and decor and having opinions on lighting and chest glitter, and shooting crappy B-roll for everyone. What a glorious day creating with some amazing creatives!!
