Tonight's "An Evening of Jazz & Wine" at Lake County Public Library" in Merrillville was a huge success and completely sold out! All tickets were sold out a week before tonight's event.

The Jeff Brown Jazz Trio both educated and entertained the audience, the wine tasting by Four Corners Winery of Valparaiso was a hit with everyone.

The basket drawings and silent Jazz Art Auction generated a lot of interest and donations. The mini sandwiches and hors d'oeuvres provided by the library were wonderful.

Thanks to our sponsors Peter at New Hong Kong Restaurant in Hobart for providing our guests with the tasty Spring Rolls, and Susan at The Girl Scouts of Chicago & Northwest Indiana for providing us with all the yummy GS Cookies.

I was not sure what to expect when I first approached my fellow Lake County Public Library Foundation Board members with the idea. I am happy they let me give it a shot! For a first time event, it got phenomenal response.

Thank you Jeff Brown, Roger Harris and Bruce Evans for the very interesting way you presented jazz music both as performers and as educators. It was a delight to have you!

Thank you to everyone who attended and supported our event! My personal thanks to Jennifer, Carol and the LCPL staff for working so hard to make this all run smooth, to the LCPL Board of Trustees for approving the event, and to those I serve with on the LCPL Foundation Board for agreeing to step outside the box with this fall's fundraiser.

I can't wait to put together next year's event!

UPDATE: The November 7th "An Evening of Jazz & Wine" fundraiser I am producing for The Lake County Public Library Foundation is now officially sold out.

As an officer of the LCPL Foundation Board, I thrilled at the strong public response to this event and very grateful to all who secured tickets early. Given the response, I hope to do an event of this kind every fall to help our board in its mission to promote the various Lake County Indiana library branches and to promote/fund literacy programs.

Hey jazz fans and wine drinkers! Join Alice and I at this cool event on THURSDAY, NOVEMBER 7th!

Tom Lounges Entertainment, LLC is working closely with The Lake County Library Foundation Board (of which I am a long time board member), in presenting "An Evening of Jazz and Wine" at the Merrillville branch of the Lake County Library.

Jeff Brown will do a brief speaking segment about specific elements of Jazz music, The Jeff Brown Jazz Trio will perform live, and wine tasting is being provided by Four Corners Winery of Valparaiso.
