Meet Jen, The Overisel Emporium's General Manager.

The work of a general manager is...generally everything!

Jen is involved in rental inquiries and walk-throughs, event setup and staffing, vendor coordination, and all the other things that pop up in party planning and event hosting.

Beyond her natural skill in each of those capacities, we're also pretty proud of her level-headed, nerve-calming, no-nonsense way of working with clients facing the stress and excitement of their events.

If Jen is in the room, it'll all be ok!
And if Jen is on your team, you're better for it!
We sure are.

Welcome Jessilyn Rockhold, the Overisel Emporium’s new Event Manager!

She’ll serve guests of the Emporium exceptionally well with her keen eye for details and her easy kindness.

Jess is an invested community member (local soccer coach and Lion’s Club VP) with an eye for hospitality that encourages fun and strengthens relationships.

Would you just look at the way these old pine planks shine! These rough-hewn floors in the Emporium’s main space are an original element of the 1941 construction of the building and have started to glow with all the care they’ve received. Another labor of love that makes this space feel special!

We’ve got a thing for details, haven’t you noticed? The newel post is repurposed from the Porter Estate in Wyoming, MI (the former home of a dear old man we knew as Grampa/Grandpa Bzz) and the tin trim was an original element of the Jackson State Prison, circa mid-1800s. Swipe to see how a simple little two-step came to be this pretty thing!

Of course the Emporium has a candy counter! This one is just inside the main entrance to grab your eye and welcome you well! It came to us from the old Vriesland Station and is well stocked with sweets. (No cigs or ci**rs, though! The old ad is just for character these days!)
