The fall cleanup went well. The sponsorship signs are down. The picnic tables are put away. Mike did a final drag of the arenas. The water is turned off. The park is now closed for the winter. In the spring, we'll let HEP members know when the footing is firm and the Park is open.
It was a "Chilly and Chili" day as we braved the raw weather. We warmed up with a bowl of chili, followed by cookies and brownies!
Special thanks to Lauren Dallaire of Swan Brook Equestrian Center, who helped us evaluate the cross-country jumps. Over the winter, we'll be working on a plan for the jump course renovation. (Does anyone know of a good source of railroad ties and/or telephone poles?)

We adjusted the time for our clean-up because it gets dark so early, and we don't think we will need that much time to close things up. Come by and lend a hand if you can!
In addition to our general close-up tasks, we’ll be walking the outside jump course to evaluate conditions and to come up with a plan for renovations or upgrades. If you have an interest, please stop by and give us your thoughts. Snacks and beverages provided!

Drum roll please - here's the before and after of the newly renovated Manager's Booth at the Hollis Equestrian Park! We hoped to show it off at the Fun Show and Open House last weekend, but the weather did not cooperate. Many thanks to the HEP Board and volunteers who worked hard to bring new life to this great community resource. The park is now open and the first show of the season is on Sunday. There are still available dates if you would like to book the park for a show or event this season. And don't forget to join HEP - Members may come and use the park any time it is not rented out; it's a great way to get your horse out and practice.

Curse the weather gods! The forecast for Saturday is a washout with an inch of rain expected. We want to be fair to Fat Guys and our friends so we are canceling our Open House and Fun Show. We will keep you posted if we can find a date to reschedule. Thank you to all our supporters!
