I was introduced to music by hearing my older Sisters and Mother playing music around the age of 7 years old, maybe even younger. I remember my sisters playing Slick Rick, Roxanne Shante and LL Cool J back in the 1980’s. I also remember my Mother playing The Bee Gees and all sorts of other music that helped broaden my musical taste for different genres of music. I’m definitely grateful for that! S
o my roots runs deep into music. I started Dj’ing in the 1990’s on vinyl records. Good turntables back then we’re so expensive. I couldn’t afford to get me a pair of Technique 1200’s, so I had to settle for a “Linear tech” brand of garbage turntable. 😂 You got to crawl before you walk. I remember being so excited. Lol I would put one on the floor and try to practice scratching everyday after school. Eventually, I brought another turntable and was able to learn how to beat match just by listening to the snares and drums in blend into a record; that’s no longer necessary in this day and age with everything being digital. At some point I took a break from Dj’ing years down the line and then came back to it. I then started from scratch getting me digital turntables, which took some getting used to. But now I’m ready for the prime time! Dj’ing for parties and getting the crowd jumping to have a good time. Hiphop & R&B is what I normally play, so let’s get the party started!
