ONE PERSON PASSES AWAY FOLLOWING HIT AND RUN

Friday, October 1, 2021 around 4:30 a.m. WPD officers were dispatched to 4300 Market St. where a pedestrian had been hit by a vehicle. EMS arrived and determined the 30-year-old female victim from Wilmington was deceased. WPD Traffic Unit is currently investigating this as a hit and run fatality. Anyone with information is encouraged to please contact the police department at (910) 343-3609. The victim name is being withheld at this time pending family notification. We are extending our prayers and condolences to the victim and her family.
