Chickpeas & Cheer from the Holyoke Hummus Company, where the tahini flows freely, the falafels are always fresh, and the hummus? Well, it’s hummus flavored.

As we celebrate our 10th Anniversary, we find ourselves reflecting on a decade of chickpeas, challenges, and a whole lot of love.

The biggest news? We’ve gone Wholesale! That’s right, Holyoke Hummus is now available in stores and farm stands across New England and New York. So whether you’re in Nantucket or the Berkshires, you can find our Hummus Flavored Hummus to brighten your fridge and your spirits. We’re proud to be partnering with Food Connects, Marty's Local, Myers Produce and Simos Produce to distribute our product because we are too busy driving the Great Garbanzo around and whirling up the hummus.

On the home front, it’s been a busy year, too. Leon has become a sous-chef in Boston and is making art. Lucy ran the food truck and her Ultimate Frisbee team won all the tournaments (BDU!) and Lawrence retains the cutest cashier title and loves their ninja warrior classes. We also welcomed a new member to the team—Blondie, our hummus-loving dog. She’s quickly learned to sit, stay, and beg for pita. Shiloh the cat, unimpressed as ever, continues to rule the roost, observing all of this with regal indifference.

We couldn’t have done this without you—our customers, partners, community, and fellow hummus enthusiasts. Whether you’ve grabbed a Professional from our truck, ordered catering or picked up a tub of hummus from your local market, you’ve been part of our story.

Here’s to a new year filled with peace and ease, good food, good friends, and, of course, plenty of hummus.

10 Years ago when we launched a crowdfunding campaign John was THE VERY FIRST PERSON ON BOARD. There is a moment when an idea becomes something. John is inextricably bound to making that moment for us. A few years later when we had a restaurant on High Street he put his mouth where his money was and came in for lunch on the regular and we always had a moment to chat about owning and running a business in Holyoke. We are grateful for his impact on us personally and in our community. We wish his family and loved ones peace and strength as they cope with his loss.

The western Massachusetts architect who redeveloped one of Holyoke's oldest and largest mills has died.

While owning a food business these last 10 year has been tough (looking at you Covid), there have been many, many, many bright spots. One of them is frequenting and falling in love with other local businesses. Places that we put on our “when we sell our hummus flavored hummus in stores we need to have it there” list.

One at top of the list is Cushman Market and Cafe in Amherst, MA. In our intro letter the owners we shared that “We love your store and have had more than a few work meetings over the years in your lovely cafe and outdoor area”.

🎉We are so excited that Holyoke Hummus is now on their shelf! (Thanks to Marty's Local for delivering it there!)
