SCOTT LOGSDON is a Broadway veteran/award-winning actor/director/writer. An originating company member in the national company of the Tony Award winning musical, LES MISĆRABLES, he's been seen on Broadway, off-Broadway, on tour, in 5 countries, 6 Canadian territories, 7 time zones, 48 states, as a guest of the Clinton's in the White House (twice) and singing the national anthem at two MLB Playoff games. He was most recently seen starring as Billy Bigelow opposite Broadway legend Lisa Vroman in CAROUSEL IN CONCERT, with the 38-piece Westmoreland Symphony Orchestra. Some favorite roles include Thenardier, Sweeney Todd, Chess (DTL Best actor award), Anatoly, King Herod, El Gallo, Stine, Bruce Granit, Marvin, Paul, Starbuck, Candide, Joe Cable, Sam, Charlie, TR, and The Hair Hag. He has performed with and directed such notables as Broadway legends and Tony nominees Colm Wilkinson, Andrea McArdle, Laurie Beechman, Liz Callaway, Howard McGillin, Stephen Schwartz, and Tony winners Sutton Foster, Lea Salonga, Jarrod Emick, and Cady Huffman. STICKS & STONES (a musical written with Grammy/Emmy winner John McDaniel) premiered online as a concert for Lady Gagaās Born This Way Foundation and BC/EFA. It starred Audra McDonald, Javier MuƱoz, George Salazar, Mykal Kilgore and 135 young actors from around the world. His work has also been recorded by Kerry Butler, Jackie Burns, Ann Harada, and Liz Callaway, (theme song for www.starsinthehouse.com). He dedicates this concert to the memory of his mother.

āChicago: Teen Editionā is a musical extravaganza that is sure to wow audiences of all ages. Set in the roaring 1920s, āChicago: Teen Editionā tells the story of Roxie Hart (sophomore Lily Taraschuk) and Velma Kelly (senior Rochelle Keast); based on the 1926 play by Maurine Dallas Watkins, the musical follows Roxie Hart, whose crime of passion lands her on Merry Murderesses Row, sharing the spotlight with vaudeville icon and fellow felon Velma Kelly. To keep their names in the headlines and themselves off death row, Roxie and Velma rely on lawyer Billy Flynn (junior Seth Buckwalter) to ārazzle dazzleā the jury and the press core.
With music by John Kander and lyrics by Fred Ebb, the musical features a book and original direction from Bob Fosse, whose inimitable dance style is infused into the choreography (by Mason Marie Clark) and staging (by Scott D. Miller of this production.
As director Scott D. Miller said, āEveryone in āChicagoā āperformsā their lives. Weāre gonna pull back the curtain and let you seeā¦business and the media make celebrities out of criminals ā and thereby make crime attractive.ā
āOne of the things the Chicago company does really well is they basically toned down overtly sexual references and really shifted the themes to greed and fame,ā director Scott D. Miller, explained. āThe shows are very, very similar in terms of the Chicago original soundtrack and the teen edition of the Broadway musical and blockbuster film. Itās more about how we dealt with toning down innuendos, and incorporating the original Bob Fosse choreography so that itās appropriate for our students. The performers are costumed with the style of roaring ā20s, different from what you see in the Broadway production.ā
The theme of murder plays a big part, focusing on the idea of what that does to people and how people cope and deal with those kinds of situations, Miller added.
This is Millerās ninth year directing the musicals at Honesdale High School Performing Arts Center, and over 27 years of directing, acting and performing on and off Broadway in his professional career.
There are 48 student actors, 41 backstage crew leaders and members, and four student musicians in the orchestra pit playing alongside professional musicians; bringing the jazz age of Chicago to life.
