It was supposed to rain all day on Luke and Amanda’s wedding day, but it didn’t.
-
Instead they had a magical ceremony outside, it started raining soon after the indoor reception started, creating the most wonderful cozy element. And the rain stopped again just in time for sunset photos. How gorgeous!!

Every wedding day I’m always watching and looking for moments. Actual moments. Authentic moments. Tears, laughter, silly moments. I want to document your story, your love. That’s why on a wedding day I give space. Space for you to breathe and soak in your day, space for you to hug your friends, and enjoy. And it’s usually during those times that I capture my favorite photos.

Sam and Macy’s day was so lovely, filled with incredible, celebratory people, and Macy was truly the most radiant bride.

My Selah had her very first day of school last week, and my golly, I was not prepared for the amount of emotions that would come with it.
-
Not her. She loves every bit of school, her eyes sparkle a little extra these days. Me. I was a mess.
-
I have reminders every day constantly even that time is going quickly. I’m aware. I’m intentional to soak in the moments, to give lots of hugs, to savor.
-
But wow, how are we here?
-
I cannot even put into words how proud I am of my oldest daughter.
-
She has overcome huge obstacles, walked through dark paths, and yet she shines fearlessly. When I watch her play freely with her friends, jump off the diving board of the pool, walk up to strangers dogs, I always remember that if wasn’t always that way. I remember a time when my Selah was gripped by fear. Controlled by fear. I remember when night after night she would wake up screaming from another nightmare, when she would cry at the sight of strangers, or look across a room and scream in terror at nothing. Or at something I could not see.
-
We fought long and hard in prayer for this one. And taught her to do the same. And fear has left.
-
So you see, when she walked into the classroom boldly all by herself, of course I am in tears. Fear tried to take her down, and it only taught her how to fight.
-
Gosh I am proud of my girl.

As your photographer you will see me a LOT on your wedding day! It’s important that you feel comfortable with me and trust me. The engagement session is perfect for that.

Not only that, the engagement session is like a practice run for your wedding day, you’ll be experts in front of the camera by the end of it, making your wedding day a breeze!

Weather happens. I shot a wedding in March during a straight up blizzard, and have done weddings in December with perfect sunny weather. You just never know.
-
But as a bride and groom, your job is to embrace it. Shrug off any disappointment or frustration and choose to dance in the rain, literally or figuratively. 🎉
-
Oh and a back up plan is helpful too.
