A lot happens during your wedding day, and most of the time, as it often does, one or two things won’t go totally to plan.
It might rain when it’s supposed to be sunny…
You might forget to bring something…
Or you or your guests are running late…
so many things are happening, but just remember these 5 things:
1. Be present for each other.
Appreciate the journey you’ve gone through to get to this moment because you did that together.
2. Don’t forget to take a few minutes to yourselves after your ceremony or before entering your reception to actually BE with your new husband or wife.
Those few moments, during the whirlwind that will be your day will be a lifesaver and help you feel even more connected.
3. Don’t forget to eat and drink something.
It may not seem like a big deal, but it’s a long day. Assign someone to make sure you’re fed because you won’t be able to enjoy your day as much as you would on a full stomach and fully hydrated.
4. Make sure there’s time in your wedding timeline where there is a few minutes of no activities.
Most of the time, right after the ceremony, you will have to jump into wedding party photos, couples photos, family photos….then grand entrance, first dance, and maybe photos with each table as they get up for food.
Make it a priority to carve out a few minutes where you can freely join your guests and family during cocktail hour maybe and let your photographer capture the rest.
This will give you time to actually feel like a part of your wedding as well as the host.
5. And last but not least, don’t forget to thank your partner and tell them you love them.
Most of the time during weddings you only get to talk before the ceremony, if you’ve had a first look, or quickly throughout the day because of the festivities you’ve planned.
