The symbol of Gentle Beast, our beloved Kingster, after 15 years and 4 months of life and service as an explosive detection K9, crossed the rainbow bridge today.

I started Gentle Beast in honor of his retirement 5 years ago — from someone with no experience in flowers to now, winning a national florist competition.

During the competition, I created a bouquet in his memory. As I picked the flowers, I pictured his golden coat, his little short tail, and how joyful he would have been running through the fields of the beautiful Nagano countryside.

Thank you Kingster.

Gentle Beastの象徴であり、愛するキングスターが、15年と4か月の生涯を終え、爆発物探知犬としての務めを果たしたのち、本日虹の橋を渡りました。

5年前、彼の引退をきっかけに始めたGentle Beast。花の経験もなかった私が、今ではフローリストコンテストで優勝するまでになりました。

そのコンテストでは、キングスターを想いながらブーケを束ねました。花を摘むとき、黄金色の毛並みや短い尻尾、そして長野の美しい田園を駆け回る幸せそうな姿を思い描きました。

キングちゃんありがとう。

I had the honor of participating in the Japan Florist Contest organized by Mr. Takano of fragile flower where professional florists from all over Japan gathered together.

We visited the beautiful wildflower fields of Mr. Katagiri, harvested flowers ourselves, and created our own designs — such a special experience.

Thanks to everyone’s support, I was able to win first place.

Although this is only my 4th year as a florist and I still have so much to learn, I’m deeply grateful for all the warm encouragement I’ve received from both Japan and the U.S.

この度、fragile flowerの高野さんが主催する「花屋会議カップル」──全国からプロが集まる若手フローリストコンテストに参加させていただきました。

素敵な片桐さんの草花畑に伺い、自分でお花を収穫して作品をつくる、特別な体験をさせていただきました。

そして皆さまのおかげで、優勝することができました。

フローリストとしてまだ4年目、未熟な点も多いですが、日本やアメリカからたくさんの温かい応援をいただき、本当にありがとうございます！
