Real talk. I need to tell you something about this day…
I usually say no to markets.
Why?
I have anxiety about it.
I get nervous nobody will come, my flowers will go to waste, they will wilt in the heat, it feels very awkward to me to try & “sell”, I don’t like sitting for that long, & I’m kind of a minimalist, which clashes with the whole concept 🫣 haha.
I just rather be using that 5 hour block of time doing something else.
But I had to show up for my fav zero waste store and Susty sisters at @keepitsimplehonolulu and be a part of the first earth day festival with my community.
We gathered, we created, we celebrated by using things that would otherwise end up in the landfill for something beautiful.
The jury is out if I will be doing it again anytime soon, but getting outside of my comfort zone, and trying something new to celebrate the earth…It’s worth being a little uncomfortable for that.
I love the earth
I love this ‘Āina
I love this place we get to call home.
I will forever faithfully steward this land.
We sustain each other and that is what matters most.
