After 48 days, approx. 2,400 miles later, Hawai'i Travel Director, Rick Wheatley, just completed his epic solo cross-country bicycle ride across the U.S.!
Yesterday, Rick touched the Atlantic Ocean in St. Augustine, Florida which closed his epic journey across the U.S. which started in San Diego, California. 🙌👏 Along the way, he carried a Prince symbol in memory of our fellow Hawai'i Travel Director, Leo Liugalua. 💜.

Over the weekend, staff from MC&A's Hawaii and West Coast offices gathered to pick up trash on Waikiki's scenic Kapiolani Park and Kaimana Beach. Together with groups from JTB Hawaii, Tachibana Enterprises and TP Transportation, the effort was a part of JTB's annual Brighter Earth Project.
The JTB Brighter Earth Project brings customers, local residents, and JTB Group employees together to conduct activities that create a bright future for everyone.
The program takes advantage of the local characteristics including cleanup activities at tourist destinations, conservation of the natural environment, and learning about regional history and culture. Through environmental beautification and human interchange JTB wishes to join with all of the people involved in "Bringing vitality to the earth and smiles to people."

Today, we're celebrate the Hawaiian tradition of May Day. Here are some things you may not know about this special day. 🏝️
🌸 May Day in Hawaii: Did you know? May Day has roots dating back when Hawaiians honored Lono, the god of fertility and agriculture. The lei tradition began in 1928 when poet laureate, Don Blanding, thought that Hawai‘i should have a day set aside to celebrate and recognize the custom of giving and receiving lei. Don discussed the idea with “Kamaaina Kolumn” columnist Grace Tower Warren. She enthusiastically embraced the idea and suggested that the day should be May Day and coined the phrase May Day is Lei Day.
The day is meant to focus on the special colors and flowers of each of the Hawaiian Islands so to show diversity.
🌺 Oahuʻs flower is the Ilima
Color: Golden Yellow
It symbolizes royalty and prosperity, the Ilima's golden blossoms embody the warmth and abundance of Hawaii's gathering place, Oahu. Its beauty shines like the sun over Waikiki Beach.
🌸 Molokaiʻs flower is the White Kukui Blossom
Color: Pure White
Symbolizing: Peace and purity, the White Kukui Blossom represents the serene beauty and spiritual tranquility of the "Friendly Isle," Molokai. Its ivory petals whisper tales of ancient wisdom and harmony.
🌺 Maui: Lokelani
Color: Soft Pink
Symbolizes romance and elegance
🌸 Kauaiʻs flower is the Mokihana
Color: Deep Green
Symbolizes unity and endurance.

🌺✨ The bounty of the islands were recently celebrated at an amazing "Mauka to Makai (Mountain to Ocean)" event at the Grand Wailea Resort! 🌊🏞️ Stretching across several locations throughout the property, the special event took guests on a culinary journey, where each area showcased food and beverages inspired by its geography. Delectable seafood delights were served at the Makai "Ocean" station, while savory island BBQ favorites were served at the Mauka section.
The fun continued with guests immersing themselves in Hawaiian culture with games, face painting, and temporary tattoos for an unforgettable island adventure! 🐠🌴
