In November 2004, Finishing Touch signed its very first contract and booked our first wedding!
Last night, we celebrated our 20th anniversary with our dear friend who also started her business in 2004.
It is hard to put into words what last night meant for us. To me personally, it wasn’t a party to celebrate our achievements or accolades, but it was truly a thank you party to acknowledge people who we have known and supported us for 20 years. We started in this industry before the existence of the instant gratification of the social media era. We saved money to buy print ad space in bridal magazines (and those were not cheap!), we networked in person in the most authentic way, we had each others’ back before the term “community over competition” was even a thing. This industry is full of talents, but I made a promise to myself that I only want to work with good people because good people care for each other, they bring out the best in each other, they understand what it means to have all hands on deck on a wedding day - every week we go the extra mile and do the extra work we may not get hired for: florist helping to wipe chairs after a sudden down pour, DJ playing electrician to resolve unexpected power issues on site, wedding planners helping each others’ events when extra hands are needed… it is because of the support of these good kind-hearted people, we did not just made it to 20 years, but we are thriving and having so much fun!
Thank you to this very special group for being there last night to celebrate friendships in this industry. You all mean the world to us and we are family 🫶🏽 Cheers to the next 5, 10 or maybe even 20 years? We believe the best is yet to come for all of us!
