This gorgeous venue is home to America’s oldest mountain rescue organization, making it the perfect venue for couples who adore the great outdoors, mountains, and everything that makes the Columbia River Gorge so special! Crag Rat Hut is located on the east side of Hood River and features a mountain-lodge style. It is such a gorgeous space with incredible views of the valley, Mt. Hood & Mt. Summer is almost in full swing and so is the sun! And, even though your flowers need the sun to grow, let me tell you—they hate hanging in it on a wedding day.

But, the summer is still a great time to get married in Hood River. Here are some ways our team can keep your blooms from going bad on a hot summer day:

💐 First, our team will make sure your bridesmaid bouquets are in vases when they are not being used. Not only will you and your bridesmaids want their blooms to look beautiful for photos but bridesmaid bouquets can also act as additional decor for your reception!

💐 Second, we will help make sure any outdoor ceremony arrangements are moved into the shade to be utilized for the reception. The ceremony usually includes a gorgeous arch installation and we know you want to use it for more than 30 minutes! So, let’s repurpose it into a beautiful backdrop for your reception. We’ll make sure any oasis or vases that your arch may be designed in are freshened up with water to make sure the flowers are still as happy as can be!

💐 Lastly, our team will narrow down a timeline to make sure floral is going out at the right time. The last thing we need is floral arrangements baking in the heat and sun hours before dinner! Wilting flowers and greenery are NOT ideal. So, our team is ready to discuss with you and/or your florist to make sure the timing of the setup is perfect and gauge everything around the weather on the day of your wedding.

Let’s talk about shoes. If you’re like us you may say they’re a key part of every outfit—however, it is important remember comfort matters. On your wedding day, you and your guests want to enjoy every moment! So, don’t let your shoes drag you down.

If you’re planning an outdoor wedding (specifically one that takes place in a grassy area) make sure you have a wider heel or a flat shoe. Bonus: give your guests details about the location so they can prepare as well! Sharp heels easily—and often—get stuck in the grass, making it very difficult to walk.
