Love's like a road that has no end, and each day we begin again.🖤

Tessla and Malaki said “I do” last Saturday on the serene grounds of the Lake Side Lutheran Camp in Spirit Lake, Iowa surrounded by all their friends and family. This was my final wedding of 2023 and what a perfect way to close this busy, beautiful season.

The sun shone hot for an autumn day in late September, but the golden glow it cast off the changing leaves added a warmth to the air that matched the warmth you felt in each longing gaze, each hand wrapped tightly around another, each exhale exchanged between gently pressed faces, and each tear lightly rolling down their cheeks. I can say without a doubt that this wedding was the most deeply emotional display of love I have been lucky enough to witness and every photo from their first look and exchange of private handwritten vows is a perfect display of the profound love Tessla and Malaki have for each other, it was so hard to narrow it down to just a few photos for this preview.

Being such an important part of your love stories is a gift I don't take for granted, and getting to capture every detail on your big day from the essential events to the most intimate moments brings me such happiness and hope. Thank you for a fabulous season and to all my brides and grooms for trusting me to capture the next chapter of your love story as you begin your lives as husband and wife.

Time seems to move so much faster once you have children, and between raising my daughter and dog, being a full time preschool teacher and operating my photography and graphic design business, it sometimes feels like there is not enough time to do all the things I love and be present for the people I love. With that being said, I wanted to announce that I have decided to book 𝒐𝒏𝒍𝒚 𝒇𝒐𝒖𝒓 weddings in 2024. My name is Alex, but I also respond to Al, AJ, wifey, and soon, mommy. I am a small town Wisconsin girl turned big city Minnesota babe who's obsessed with pretty nails, puppies, Christmas music, and queso! I am an experienced portrait photographer specializing in high-end editorial and everyday lifestyle photography. My style consists of glamorous and colorful imagery that captures and showcases your authentic selves.


It is so important to me that photography is not used as merely a "presentation" of your best self, but instead as a reflection of who you really are and what makes you you. That is why I have been putting people infront of my camera since 2015. Every person is uniquely and wonderfully designed and when we're in our session, I get to bring to light your rare features and expose your inner beauty!


I studied at CLC and WITC where I earned an Associates degree in Photographic Imaging Technology and Business Graphics Certificate. The thing I value most in owning my own business is getting to collaborate creatively with my all clients to achieve a truly one of a kind experience with pictures that reveal the absolute best versions of themselves.


When I'm not behind my camera taking pictures of your gorgeous faces, you can most likely find me playing with my snuggly but psycho fur-baby Chai, shopping up a storm, crafting or cooking with the help of my many Pinterest boards, or out adventuring with my high school sweetheart-turned husband and best friend of 9 years.

A love so deep, the depths of the great lakes can't compete. 🖤

Maisey and Tyler said “I do” last Saturday on the stunning shore of Lake Superior in Lutsen, Minnesota surrounded by their closet friends and family. You can feel the relentless and rooted love they have for each other in each intimate moment, now frozen in time. I get 𝒈𝒐𝒐𝒔𝒆𝒃𝒖𝒎𝒑𝒔 every time I look at these images.

I've been shooting weddings for five years now and I rarely share this many photos in a preview post on my socials, but there are simply too many beautiful moments captured from this day to keep to myself. A calm and cloud covered Lake Superior framed by the breathtaking sculpture of the North Shore surround this couple so effortlessly. This area holds a special place in their hearts which was so prominent in every aspect of their wedding day and I hope these photos do it justice as well.

Love is the river of life in the world. 🖤

Cory and Macie fit so beautifully together. Their soft, shy smiles perfectly complimented their gentle, desirous embraces as they melted into one another every time they touched. The trust they have and comfort they bring each other was so evident in every aspect of their session, it made for a gorgeous collection of stunningly simple photographs that showcase their love story, which is already 10 years in the making.

Hey everyone! 🖤

I want to start by saying that I am SO grateful for all the love, patience, and continued support I have received from you all as I took a step back from my business these past six months and spent more time being present with my beautiful growing family and taking a much needed break for my mental health.

With that, I am very excited to announce that I have decided to start booking a very limited number of weddings for 2023. I can’t wait to make this slow transition back into operating my business as my daughter turns one in two weeks. 🖤 If you are engaged or know a bride-to-be who is looking for someone to capture the start of their love story next year, send them my way! Hello everyone 😌

I want to be open and honest with you always, so I need to share with you all that I made the tough decision to quit booking sessions until further notice.

As most of you know, my husband and I welcomed our beautiful daughter Raelynn into the world this April. We tried for 3 years to bring a child into the world and feel so blessed to have this adorable addition in our family.

With this new title of mom though, I have become overwhelmed by all the added responsibilities of working full time as a Preschool teacher and running a successful photography business while also trying to find time to spend with and care for my family.

These past 6 months have been so amazing and fulfilling but also such a struggle as I have never underwent this much stress and feelings of failure before. I recognize now that I have spread myself too thin and I feel I am not able to give 100% of myself to anything or anyone with the way I am living my life right now. That is not fair to you all, my students, or to my husband and daughter, so I am taking a step back and taking a breath.

While this decision was a hard one to make, I know at this time in my life it was the right one. I have to do what is best for my mental and physical health and putting photography on the back burner for now will help me be more focused for my students, more present for my daughter, and ultimately gives me time and space to find a balance in this new season.

It has been an incredible 6 years photographing all your beautiful faces and helping you document the start of your love stories and the growth of your families as well as making your visions a reality and creating some kick ass art with other creatives.

There's still a lot in store for Alex Jones Photography and I am so excited to capture the couples who will be saying "I do" in 2022 and the creative projects I have booked with fellow artists and friends, so keep an eye out for all the photos I'll be continuing to share over the next year.

I appreciate all your support and thank you for your understanding as I put my camera down for a bit and take this time to focus on my family and my mental health.

MY BEST FRIEND IS ENGAGED!!! 💍And yes, I really did find her a husband, but that's a story for another time. Seth and Delana are the cutest couple I have ever had the pleasure of photographing. The way he looks at her and the way she smiles at him is so rare and so beautiful, this is what love looks like. I am so thankful I get to watch their relationship continue to grow and capture the beginning of their forever.

Waiting is not a waste of time when the thing you are waiting for is worth it. 🖤 On Saturday, Amber and Khali were finally able to walk down the aisle after having to push their wedding date out 8 months due to Covid-19. Though the wait was hard for us all, it was so worth it as their sunny summer wedding couldn’t have been more perfect.
