Customer’s cue had a loose joint insert due to improper construction of the shaft. Exposed end grains, plus direct wood/metal interface is never a good idea… Rotted wood was bored out and replaced with a linen phenolic insert.

What clean balls can do that dirty balls can’t

The ultimate cueing test. Line up, blindfold yourself, move your cue out of the way and back in place, pot the ball and follow the cue ball in.

A demonstration on the importance of preshot routine and body allignment. You aim with your feet and body, not arm and eyes.

Today I’ll teach you how to fix a “bent” cue by manually refacing the joint. Disclaimer: do this at your own risk with possible irreversible damage.

Today we will learn how a professional breakoff shot is done

Just changed the tip on my Z3. I change them every 200hrs or so, or when they go “dead”. When the leather gets compressed the tip will lose its elasticity, resulting in less efficient power transfer and less reliable grip on the cue ball. This effect is throughout the entire tip so can’t be fixed just by grinding off the surface layer.
