Our Story
We began hosting family and friend gatherings on our property in the early 1990’s, with the first being a Brunswick stew in celebration of the construction of our home, followed by several grape harvests, local college homecoming events, to name a few. We decided in 2016 to cultivate an environment ideal for weddings, formal social events, and family gatherings. Chris Conkwright, the primary builder of the venue, has a deep background in timber-framing, creative woodworking, and wine-growing. His sons, Tanner and Collin, and wife Jennifer, have worked together to produce CountyLine Vineyard and Venue. In constructing the venue, we’ve re-purposed wood, improvised resources, and utilized a local Amish wood mill to build the space. The property, located in central Virginia just one hour from both Richmond and Lynchburg, offers a spacious, peaceful environment away from the hustle and bustle of the city. This family venture, though just beginning, has already enriched our lives with new friendships, business relationships, and memories, and we’re excited to see where the journey continues to take us.
