We have 2 big announcements this morning

We are excited to announce the theme for the 2025 Amelia County Fair will be Blue Jeans and Country Dreams.

Second the Amelia County Fair Pageant is returning in 2025 under direction of Ashley Mullins More information will be available in the near future. Please share and help us get the word out so we can have a successful Pageant. Below is some details about Ashley's Pageant experience.

Ashley Mullins has dedicated over a decade to the world of pageantry. Inspired by her local county fair, Ashley went on to compete in the Miss Virginia pageant three times. She made history as the first contestant to showcase an aerial talent on the Miss Virginia stage. After retiring from competitions, Ashley has remained active in the pageant community serving as a judge, volunteer, consultant, and sponsor for various local and charity events across Virginia and West Virginia. She currently resides in Jetersville with her husband and daughter on their 100-year-old farm.

The Amelia County Fair will host our yearly organizational meeting Tuesday 12-17-2024 at Dogged State Diner. We will start with dinner at 6 followed by election of next year's officers and the meeting. We hope to see you there.

Hi fair lovers!!! We are in full gear planning next year's Amelia County Fair. We have been brainstorming and have come up with a lot of great ideas. Now we want your suggestions. Some of things we have come up with are Themed Music Nights, Circus, magic show, high school rodeo, and mobile fishing pond. What are some attractions that would make the fair a must attend event? Also what would be some great ideas for a Theme for the fair?

Our prayers go out to the Franklin-Southampton County Fair. Their fair was set to begin this week but a tornado came through and severely damaged the fairgrounds.

We want to thank everybody for braving the intense heat at this year's fair and making it a great success. We had record heat for June and yall still showed up! We also want to thank our sponsors who help us make this happen every year. Remember we are a non-profit, not funded by the county, and 100% VOLUNTEER. We are always looking for volunteers to help with the fair, so please reach out and attend a meeting. Lastly we are constantly looking for feedback. FREE!! FREE!! FREE!!
Entry to the Amelia County Fair is FREE for all ages between 3 pm and 5:30 pm today, Saturday! Get here and enjoy the sights and sounds and get ready for the big Celeste Kellogg concert at 8 PM!

Wherever you are today it is cooler at the Amelia County Fair. This is the longest and most action packed day this year. Gate admission is $5 and kids 12 and under are FREE $25 unlimited ride wristbands available 10-4 and 4-11 all day wristbands are $40 Local favorites Shooters band will be on stage from 3-5 followed by CMA recording artist Celeste Kellogg on the Amelia Stage from 8pm-10pm. Captain Jim Is Magic and Rocking M Regulators "wild west" will be performing multiple shows today. We have some wonderful food vendors like Krave Donuts which quite possibly have the best donuts we have ever seen, The Lemonade Shark LLC which will be serving ice cold lemonade in 11 different flavors, and of course Archer's BBQ with giant turkey legs. The dunk tank and kids zone will be open which support our scholarship fund and local food pantry.. There is just to much to list so please check out ameliacountyfair.com A friendly reminder that parking is at the elementary and high school with free shuttles running all day. Parking on the fairgrounds is limited to permitted handicapped vehicles and will be strictly enforced. All parking is not permitted on the shoulders of Five Forks Rd.

The second day of the Amelia County Fair has come and gone. First we just wanted to say sorry for the brief interruption in the rides operating. They are up and running and everybody had a spectacular time riding them. Tomorrow is the longest day of the fair and ride wristband day. Prices are as follows. 10am-4pm and 4pm-11pm $25 and all day bands are $40. We have a jam packed schedule of entertainment. The Rocking M Regulators "wild west show and Captain Jim Is Magic will be performing multiple shows. We also have Shooters Band from 3-5 and then at 8pm we will have CMA recording artist Celeste Kellogg performing. We also have the VSU mobile ag classroom.. Be sure to drink plenty of water while at the fair to stay hydrated.

Today is the 2nd day of the Amelia County Fair. It is another $25 unlimited ride wristband night. Admission is $5 kids 12 and under are free. Gates are open 3-11. Ian Vest - Music will be on the Amelia Stage from 7-9. Captain Jim Is Magic Will be performing 3 shows today. The helicopter will be flying all evening. Be sure to stop by and check out Woody's Wood Carving, all of the items he is working on will be up for auction Sunday evening at 6pm. Sealed bids can be placed at fair office. Be sure to stop by the food court for some BBQ, mini donuts, tacos, cheesesteaks, and caramel apple sundaes. We also have a lot of wonderful vendors in the exhibition hall and outside. Important reminder that parking is at elementary and high school parking lots. We have free shuttles running all day. Parking on the fairgrounds is strictly prohibited unless you have a handicapped placard or plate. Please refrain from parking on Five Forks road as it makes it difficult for the busses to safely get everyone to and from the fair. If you have any questions feel free to message us.

WOW!! What an awesome night at the Amelia County Fair Yall really showed up tonight. We still have 3 more exciting days left. The rides were amazing, the food tasted delicious, Captain Jim Is Magic had everybody laughing and in awe with his amazing trickery, the baby calves in the AG barn were precious. Also a big shout out to Daybreak Band and all of the volunteers for dunk tank, and kids zone. Speaking of dunk tank we have a stellar lineup on Friday evening. From 4-5 we have Amberly Eells from animal control, 5-6 we will have Martin Konkel, 6-7 BOS Joseph Easter, and 7-8 Anita Willamson. They have a friendly competition to see who can raise the most money for the Fair Scholarship. Check out ameliacountyfair.com for latest schedule

The Amelia County Fair is officially open. Ribbon Cutting is at 6pm tonight. All of the rides are ready to go, the food smells amazing. Captain Jim is magic has 2 shows tonight. On the Amelia Stage we will have they Daybreak Band. We can wait to see yall!!!

THE Amelia County Fair STARTS TOMORROW. The rides are setup. Vendors are rolling in. Captain Jim is here. What a great time we are going to have this weekend. Here are a few reminders. We will be accepting items for the exhibit hall from 8am-noon tomorrow. Parking is at the elementary and high school. We will have shuttles running between the schools and the fairgrounds. Fair hours are Thursday 3-10 Friday 3-11 Saturday 10am-11pm and Sunday 2-8. Ride wristbands will be available daily. Thursday $25 Friday $25 Saturday 10-4 or 4-11 $25 or all day for $40 Sunday $25. Individual ride tickets will be $1.50 Sheets of ride tickets will also be available. Chainsaw carving auction is Sunday at 6. We will be accepting silent bids this year. Stop by fair office for information. We can't wait to see yall this weekend. What a day. Our committee and volunteers were hard at work today. The barn is cleaned out and ready for all of the animals to fill it up. The dunking booth is clean and ready for your favorite people to sit up top for you to dunk them. The exhibit hall is almost ready to be lined wall to wall with your awesome creations. Now we are waiting for some special guests arriving tonight. We can't wait to see everyone in just a couple of days.

Happy Father's Day. We are excited to be able to share some of the rides that will be at this year's fair. The big question everybody has been asking is will there be a ferris wheel? The answer is "YES". It is already onsite awaiting the softball tournament to end so it can be erected. We also added a few more rides for the older kids that include the Scrambler, S**t, and Tempest. Some of the other rides are the Whirlybird, Elephant ride, Superslide and Kiddie Coaster. We will have 12 rides this year plus some fun games, and delicious food. Only 4 more days until the Amelia County Fair

Only 6 DAYS until the Amelia County Fair. 6 is also the number of bands we will have playing at this year's fair. We have Daybreak on Thursday, Ian Vest - Music on Friday, Shooters and Celeste Kellogg on Saturday, and Sunday we have Marketa Jefferson Praise Dance, and True Spirit Gospel. The FINAL COUNTDOWN is on. Only 1 week until the Amelia County Fair is open. We hope everybody is ready for all of the events that our committee has planned. 3PM Thursday June 20th is when all of the fun starts. We can't wait to see yall!

We will be having a workday at the fairgrounds this Saturday the 15th at 10:30. We could use all the help we can get. We have to hang banners, set up tables, prep the barn, mark vendor spaces and much more. If you can help please message us here or reach out to Justin Wright.
