As many of you know, Clutch City Crawfish is not only about traditional, cajun style crawfish. Far from it really. Yes, that's how we started, but we're about food. Great tasting food. Food that's never been done, or Classics that we feel we can make better. We're about cultures, and the variety of spice palettes in this world. This article right here says it all. Its not for everybody, but it's what it stands for that makes it awesome. I hope yall enjoy the read.

The Texas and Louisiana Gulf Coast has largely been dominated by Cajun and Vietnamese cooking styles. A local caterer is testing out Europe's kräftskiva.

We do need to concern ourselves with sustainability. Do we "need" crawfish in January? Probably not. This week of weather is a good indication of why we should wait. We want many generations from now to be able to enjoy crawfish just like we are now. What are your thoughts?

Leading up to our official start of crawfish season on Feb. 22nd, we will be doing at least 3 pop-ups around town. What's special you ask? We're giving them away at COST!! This will be the first. Bobcat Teddy's Ice House on Whiteoak, all weekend. We're hoping crawfish will be no more than $6/lb...but price is tbd. Put it on your calendars now!! Jan. 25 and 26th. Stay tuned for more details.

Farmers are reporting earlier and more abundant yields compared to this time last year, thanks to help from increased rainfall and more forgiving temperatures in southeast Texas and Louisiana. https://trib.al/fBgzTjC

I'm here doing some research for yall. In Harahan, LA at , and they got their first shipment of crawfish in for the season. It is a decent size for this time of the year. Mostly smalls, as you can see, but there were a few mediums sprinkled in. ( BTW, flavor was really good here. It's not super spicy. Service was great, $8.99/lb)
Overall, it was a good sign for the upcoming season. Yall get ready because crawfish are coming.

Happy to announce that we will be returning to Sam Houston Race Park for a second season of Sunday Fundays in March. Last year was our inaugural season with SHRP so we hope to grow the tradition. This is a family friendly event that boasts live music, free beer tastings from local breweries, a petting zoo for the kids, live racing for the adults, and of course hot boiled crawfish for everyone! It promises to be a go to spot for both Mardi Gras (March 2nd) and St. Patrick's (March 16th) weekends. We will have crawfish specials and possibly even our award winning gumbo on the menu! With crawfish season fast approaching, We like to start thinking ahead of the curve. Clutch City Crawfish has always been about thinking outside of the box. Not conforming to what crawfish is, or was, but what it can be. In the past few years we've introduced our Jamaican Jerk, our Vietnamese, and our Jalisco styles of crawfish.
