Mark your calendars for our next MASP event, featuring songwriter, speaker and author David La Motte!

Songwriter, speaker and author David LaMotte has performed over 3,500 concerts and released thirteen full-length CDs of primarily original music, touring in all of the fifty states and on five of the seven continents. The Boston Globe writes that his music “pushes the envelope with challenging lyrics and unusual tunings, but he also pays homage to folk tradition,” while BBC Radio Belfast lauds his “charm, stories, humour, insightful songs, sweet voice and dazzling guitar ability.”

In 2008, David accepted a Rotary World Peace Fellowship to study International Relations, Peace and Conflict Resolution at the University of Queensland in Brisbane, Australia. His TEDx talk on what music can teach us about peacemaking is featured on TED.org.

We hope you can make plans to join us for this wonderful event!

Houston friends, please join us at the Rice University Organ Recital Hall this Friday evening (September 8) @ 7:30 pm for a dazzling program played by Bryan Anderson, winner of the highly prestigious 2023 Longwood Gardens International Organ Competition. Bryan played one our 2022 Summer Organ Recitals here at St. Philip (which celebrated winners of the Canadian International Organ Competition), and we're thrilled at the opportunity to hear him again this Friday night — he'll be playing several of the pieces which shot him to the top of the winner's podium at Longwood Gardens — it will be quite spectacular!
