Black Eyed Peas Hummus Recipe Alert! 🔥🔥
EQUIPMENT NEEDEDFood ProcessorINGREDIENTS
.
*1 can 15 oz Black Eyed Peas, drain and reserve liquid. Save 3 tbsp of peas for garnish
*3 tablespoons Tahini paste
*3 tablespoons Extra virgin olive oil
*1 Lemon (3 tablespoons)
*3 to 4 tablespoons Water - can use reserved liquid or water if you want a thinner consistency
*½ teaspoon Onion powder
*½ teaspoon Garlic powder
*½ teaspoon ground pepper
*½ teaspoon Creole Seasoning
*½ teaspoon Salt - can add more to taste
*⅛ teaspoon Smoked paprika - optional
*3 tbsp flat leaf parsley or chives for garnish
*Store in refrigerator for up to 1 week

⏩ InstructionsDrain and rinse black eyed peas under cold water reserving liquid(set aside).
Place peas in food processor (a bullet machine can work too).
Next add tahini paste, lemon juice, garlic powder, onion powder, creole seasoning, pepper, water, and olive oil.
Blend together until creamy and smooth.
Add more salt to taste and serve. Sprinkle with flat leaf parsley and/or chives, and reserved black Eyed peas. You can also drizzle olive oil and paprika on top before serving as well for a little pizzazz in the presentation!!! Enjoy!!

Thanks to the Kopfensteiner family for bringing a lively bunch together for our first in person class since the pandemic!!! Everyone was excited, ready to learn, and they all came together to learn how to make Chicken and Andoullie Sausage skewers with Black Eyed Pea Salad, and the best bacon-wrapped potatoes one could ever imagine! 🥰🥰
