I met the man. I got to tell him how I became a Texas Notary so I could stamp petitions to get him on the ballot. I got to tell him how I had spent the last 2 months, on my feet, gathering signatures, hosting petition signing events, talking to people, fighting for him, getting attacked, criticized, ridiculed, shamed, etc. He was very grateful and thanked me many times and we hugged. 🥰🥹 And then everything changed. I changed.

Unpopular fact: The overturning of Roe vs Wade happened 2 years into the presidency of a Democrat president with a fully Democrat controlled House and Senate, which basically means that if the former president and\or his affiliated political party had given half a crap about women’s reproductive rights like they claim, they could have written legislation of some form or fashion, called an emergency session of Congress, and had the House pass it in the morning, the Senate pass it in the afternoon, and the president sign it that evening and completely bypassed any chance of the Supreme Court blocking it as it would have then been a real actual established law voted on by elected representatives not just a often referred to legal precedent and all the Judicial branch could do would be to uphold it.

But they didn’t do it because they are just as bad or worse than those who overturned it, they just have better PR and control over the media.

We really need to get a 3rd established party in the mix or we risk nothing really getting done except what is bought and paid for by various corporate entities - and their puppets will just point fingers at each other then low key dude-bro high-five each other as they swap positions.

Enough of us actually believe that the new Unity Party, the Republican Party of the future, what has formed with Trump 2024 and those who joined him from the Democratic Party and Independents, is a decent enough path to that for now.

Meanwhile, we can also all work for ranked choice voting.
