If I had to give this shot a name, it would be…
🎉I absolutely LOVE what I do for a living!!!!🎉

Yesterday my son and I had a talk about career choices as he leans closer to graduation and here’s what I had to stress to him… Loving what you do and doing what you love isn’t about chasing a check—it’s about passion, purpose, and fulfillment. When your heart is in your work, and you’re doing something that you would or could easily do without pay, success follows in more ways than one! The smile you see here is authentically placed on my face because of the love, joy, and satisfaction I was able to bring to my sweet clients and that’s what it’s all about for me as an event curator! Moral of the story folks… True joy comes from purpose, not paychecks, so focus on that.!!!

As an event manager, people think our day to day is confetti and giggles! Welp… let me take you on a quick BTS field trip….

Today, as I was walking out of a meeting, I was met with the need to activate plan Z for a client in a very sticky contractual agreement with a vendor.

In these situations, being a great listener is one of the most crucial skills you can have. It’s not just about hearing words; it’s about understanding needs, emotions, visions, understanding what went wrong, all while crafting your response to the client assuring you will FIX IT!!!

Mind you… the calls and interactions aren’t always exciting and fluffy. Sometimes, my clients are yelling and crying, and there may even be a few expletives involved from time to time.

But here’s the cake… staying cool, calm, and collected is the key to navigating the chaos.

Listening with empathy and responding with patience helps build trust and ensures that every event reflects the unique desires of our clients and it’s in those moments of stress that our true capabilities shine through. By keeping our cool and focusing on solutions, we transform challenges into unforgettable experiences.
