Come join the fun at the “SPRING FLING FESTIVAL” this Saturday April 29th from 10:00am-2:00pm.🐰🌸🌼🐣🌿🐰🌸🌼🐣🌿🐰🌸🌼🐣🌿🐰🌸 Bring the kids for some cool animal encounters, as well as exploring nature at Nature Discovery Center we will be selling Cotton Candy, Snow Cones, Popcorn, Hot Dogs, Nachos, Sodas, Gatorades, Water. Join a fun, nature friendly event. 🌿🌸🌼

Come celebrate nature with us during our Spring Fling Festival this Saturday, April 29 from 10 am to 2 pm.

This family friendly event is a great opportunity to explore the habitats found in the park from the pond to the pocket prairie, check out our native wildflower gardens in bloom, have encounters with our animal ambassadors, get hands-on when examining our specimens, create nature art, and much more! Partner organizations like the Buffalo Bayou Partnership, the Wildlife Center of Texas, Houston's Water Conservation Team and the Environmental Sustainability Board from the City of Bellaire will be on site. And we'll all enjoy the musical talents of the North Harris County Dulcimer Society.

My beautiful princess CAMILA started her First day of Kindergarten. It’s hard to let go, (she’s my baby 🥺😭). Plus not to mention letting your children go and be surrounded with so much people in the middle of this pandemic, it’s hard to trust. 😷😷😷 I pray to God that he protect our children, keep them healthy, and strengthen their immune systems. MY STORY: Hello, I’m Roidy Cruz owner of I’m a single mother of 3, I started this business journey 4 years ago, it was my little Camila’s birthday and I wanted a Cotton Candy machine. I noticed how easy it was to rent machines for a few hours and it seemed like a great extra income opportunity. I bought my first Cotton Candy machine, opened my page, and started advertising my business. Marketing supplies are a MUST, I started giving away business cards and the business started to grow. With growth comes demand, my customers started asking for other machines, so I decided to invest in our Popcorn and Snow Cone machines. We were starting to get booked every month, when the COVID pandemic came affecting small businesses, and we had to reinvent ourselves and find ways to offer new services: Gift cards, TO-GO orders, offering free delivery, etc. 🚗🚗🚗 We still managed to have events during the pandemic, wearing face masks, using hand sanitizer. On September 2020 I had a major car accident, a drunk driver ran a red light and crashed into my car, leaving me in a wheelchair with broken ankle, broken wrist, broken knee. While doing physical therapy I realized my recovery will be long, so I talked to my sister, my daughters, my mom and asked them to support the business and keep doing events while I recover. 🍭🍧🍿 My family has been a tremendous help, they continued doing birthdays, movie nights, events at the park, and the business has been growing and expanding every day. Thanks to my lovely family, we are where we are now. My next goal is to buy a trailer where I can offer delicious treats on the go, birthday parties, movie nights, weddings, baby showers, etc. My ultimate goal is to open a CANDY SHOP where I can offer a variety of treats to everyone, and of course our machines are always available for rental. To the ones starting your business: keep going, be persistent, work hard, believe in yourself and you will succeed!!!. ✨🌟✨🌟My car accident will never stop my dreams and goals, is only a temporary struggle that has made me STRONGER!!!. 🍭🍧🍿

BUSINESS DIARY: While serving customers on the weekend, there was a dad with 2 little boys (maybe 4 & 5 years old) while he asked the boys to go play at the splash pad, he kindly asked if I have SUGAR-FREE syrups for Snow Cones because his boys are Diabetics, so he doesn’t want sugary stuff. I replied my Snow Cones have regular syrup. He said: “Can you literally put a few drops of syrup, just to make my boys feel like they’re eating a Snow Cone, but please make sure it’s only a few drops of syrup and 95% ice”. 🍧🍧🍧 That’s exactly what I did, poured a few drops of syrup, and the rest was ICE. The dad seemed so happy that I listened and he was thankful that his boys were still getting their treats. 🥳🍧🤩 LESSON OF THE DAY: Don’t take your health for granted, appreciate your blessings, your health, your life. Also, I’m now seriously considering buying a couple of SUGAR-FREE syrups, I believe everyone has the right to eat our delicious treats, no matter your age, gender, health status. Customer service is my MOTO, and I’m on a mission to make happy customers!!!. 🍭🍧🍿🥳🥳🥳🤩🤩🤩🔥🔥🔥🍭🍧🍿🥳🥳🥳
