The entertainment at our Valerie + Tamitria's wedding was next level....from a flower Ballerina to start off the bridal entry at the ceremony complete with a violinist, to the cutest Littles dancing during cocktail hour, to an interpretive dance during dinner, to a hip hop dance performance to get the vibes going before opening the dancefloor, their wedding was surely one for the books and we had a blast executing it all!!

A new year so you get a new STORY TIMEEEE!!! I'll tell this story backwards. For the first part of the day yesterday I was in the emergency room at Memorial Hermann hospital. So. If you texted me yesterday, just know I was responding from the hospital 🥴. So yea, there's that. Let's retrack our steps....how'd we get here you ask? Ok funny story, the last week of 2024 I looked at my husband after we had finished doing our end of the year financial planning meetings for our businesses (he is a business owner too) and I made a joke saying "well at least I didn't have any mental breakdowns this year!!" (if you're a business owner, you know this is common especially among female business owners who are moms of small children, people just rarely talk about it on here) and well, up until that point...I hadn't had one. After completing a successful business year and being relatively close to hitting my financial goal for 2024, after having back to back Weddings every weekend in November and a large production wedding in December on top of all of the other beautiful events we successfully curated earlier in the year, I had done it all without any distress....the whole year.....so I thought! Girl BYEEE, soon as January 2 hit, my body said "S**E!!!! we are about to shut down on youuuuu 😭" I began feeling tired after cooking a large Thanksgiving dinner, then powered through the month. Christmas comes, we execute a large production wedding and boom I'm back cooking again for Christmas, on top of being sure to create Christmas magic for the kids and do all the Christmas-y things in the city you can think of.... I just felt extremely tired, like more than before. Like pregnancy type of tired but the devil is a lie so I knew THAT wasn't it. I just attempted to rest after Christmas. All I managed to do was fold some towels and that was all I had energy to do. Then boom, wake up January 2nd and heavy pain in my chest, with pressure. Thought it would go away but a day later it said "in the club, we all fam!". After numerous tests, blood work, CT scan, the verdict was.....GIRL SIT YOUR TAIL DOWN SOMEWHERE!!!!! Therefore, all January I will be taking it easy + resting.

Lorna + Pablo's wedding was designed intentionally to feel like a lush garden, the outdoor garden ceremony area is what our bride first fell in love with upon touring the venue. Once we realized how much she loved the landscaping we instantly knew we would translate that luxe garden look throughout the entire wedding including the reception.

It has been quite a minute since we last sat down and talked. September to be exact. A lot has transpired. Let's catch you up.
Now here we go: you ever just sit and feel like some things around you are off kilter? Like just something but you can't put your finger on it?!?! Yea that!!!! It's actually your discernment trying to nudge at you to investigate further what's the root cause of that feeling. Here's the thing, when you're a business owner, seemingly one in the wedding/event industry, and a top luxury planner, whereas there are a good bit of people that know you have a preferred vendors list, there can be a lot of invitations to be around you, whether it's let's chat over coffee, let's set up a call, come to our party, etc. etc. etc., which is pretty normal in the business world as it's all under the guise of networking....but guess what....God may not have wanted you around every single one of those that were trying to be in your space. Even some of the businesses you've been doing business with for years. You all know I fasted in September for spiritual clarity, but I decided to prolong the fast even into October. When. I Tell. Yall. God. Revealed. Some. STUFF!!!!! Instantly knew why I had been feeling off, instantly knew who he no longer wanted me to allow into space and he revealed the reasons why LOUD and clear 😳😳. One of my faults (yes transparent moment) is that once I determine that you are one of our preferred businesses that we refer clients out to...I will ride to the ends of the earth to make sure you are taken care of without even a thought. For years I was blinded by 'grind mode' that now that I've reached an Era where I can begin to relax more and enjoy the fruits of my labor, I began to rewind time and examine my business relationships. Ones where we brought so many clients to businesses but then never even stop to evaluate if they had reciprocated. No we don't do it just for the reciprocation, clearly if years had passed before realizing it. But to ride so hard for people that don't do the same for you is not a good business relationship and don't you let anyone try to gaslight you into thinking otherwise. Moral: trust your discernment.

Think of colors that transcend through time...neutrals for instance will always be timeless. ☆If you want to add in bold color, be particular about how you incorporate it. When our bride Ashly told us she wanted a Christmas themed wedding, immediate I grabbed a pencil and paper and began drawing life sized gift boxes that I envisioned her guests being able to sit inside of.
