Today, April 13th in 2001...
I somehow involved myself in this Smiths Tribute night in Austin, Texas, and had volunteered to perform an acoustic set on the back patio. My name: StrangeWays.
As the event got closer, it ended up that I would be on the main stage opening for a duo going as The Awesome Brothers. They had pre-recorded themselves on drums and piano and played live in front of a projected screen.
This was the very first time I ever performed in public, and think I did okay. I used an acoustic pick up I had purchased on the way to Austin from Fuller's Vintage Guitars. I don't remember the set list but I know it included Cemetry Gates, Suedehead, My Love Life and the event organizer joined me on vocals for There is a Light That Never Goes Out.
I wonder what ever happened to DJ Sliver Cyber Slut.
