I started out as a street magician. This means that I would walk up to strangers on the sidewalk, pull out a deck of cards, and make magic happen right in front of them. When you do magic like this, there isn't time for big, flashy props and hours of setup before the performance begins. I learned how to pack light and put on a show anywhere.

It was nice having a night off from gigs during October busy season to take this little butterfly around for some candy!

People go into a magic trick with certain expectations… they think of the classic pick a card, any card-type trick where the magician finds the selected card in the deck.
I like subverting those expectations quickly. The minute you tear a card in pieces in front of someone, the whole mood changes. We just went from something light and cheesy to something serious and different. With one unexpected turn, the trick is free to go in any direction.
