One day, you wish for it, and the next year, it happens
I've followed Kids Meals for a couple of years and saw photos of their annual Harvest Luncheon fundraiser. Thinking to myself, one year, I could gather enough money to pay for my seat at the table. Well, things didn't happen they way I had planned. It was better than I could dream it to be.
After taking the steps to move forward, meeting new people, and building relationships, I was invited to this event with a plus one. My guest and I enjoyed the experience, speaches given by the mayor and his daughters, guest speaker, and the story of the honorary family. During one of the speeches, it took me back to when I was a child and how things got tough at times when it came to food in the fridge, but somehow, mom made miracles happen. Things are different now, so before we left, a donation was made to this worthy cause.
Kids Meals provides and delivers meals to preschool age children year-round and older siblings during the summer months at no cost. At the Luncheon, I learned they also assist with clothing and other needs of the families.

Everything you need to know
When working with hundreds of volunteers for a large 3 day festival, you need to share as much as possible via email. This is why I prefer to send out the e-packet before the orientation meeting to answer questions before we meet.
E-packet can include: event facts, parking, check-in and out, cancelation, upcoming meetings, fees (if any), rules, and more.

Homecoming Mum's are a Texas tradition, and we are teaching you how to make them!!!
Our workshop is designed for creators, which will be our first workshop for the season. The class fee will include all the supplies to create a single flower mum to keep and show to your friends, and light refreshments.

A show you can't miss
It was a pleasure to take part in the supporting role during this documentary premiere event. My role of setting up and overseeing the VIP area was a treat.
Special thanks to the lead coordinator and her team for bringing me in.
Together, they welcomed and managed the 400+ guests, 5 guests of honors, and speakers.
This documentary highlights 5 Houston Police officers and the history they made in the 1970's for our community. This well-made documentary may teach you something you didn't know as it did for me.
