It’s been a hot minute since we’ve done a simple wedding cake - and fun fact: in medieval England, guests would bring little cakes to the ceremony and stack them on top of one another. The couple would try and kiss each other of the stack for good luck during the marriage! Did someone say “photo op”?! 🥰🎂

Take it outside! Ever heard the term “forest bathing”? It is a term meaning to submerge yourself in a forest-like atmosphere (nature). It can boost your immune system, lower blood pressure and help with depression. It can also reduce the stress hormones cortisol and adrenaline and turn down the dial on your body’s fight-or-flight response. Sounds pretty amazing, huh?

We are over the moon for vintage-style cakes. Fluffy borders, frilly ruffles and pretty piping - bring it. Marie Antoinette made them famous in the 1700s - let them eat cake! They have come back thanks to the pandemic when bakers were bored to tears and they aren’t going away anytime soon!

It’s holiday hosting season! We always say there’s never a better time to get your house in order than to have a party. Blow off that patio, bring in some fresh soaps and candles, stop into for some new orchids and call your favorite florist for a few centerpieces. 🤩🎄
A few tips for easy entertaining that seem obvious but might be forgotten in the haste of preparing for guests:
+turn on some music - it sets the tone and no one likes an awkward silence
+turn down the a/c if you expect a number of bodies - body heat is real!
+clean out all trashcans and refresh the t.p. situation in the powder baths
+plan and prep platters, table, etc with post-it notes
+dim the lights for the love of Pete!
+everyone looks better in candlelight
+when you look good, you feel good. Get a blow out, a new dress, your nails done.
+have fun!
