We strive to make your experience as stress-free and simple as possible – including being the only stop you need for your wedding day attire. In fact, we can help you with everything you need – from dress to shoes to undergarments to accessories. We’ll even help your mom, bridesmaids, and special wedding guests find their perfect dresses as well!

We are located at 4210 E Grand River Ave. Howell, MI 48843. Our location features spacious fitting rooms, gorgeous dresses at every price point, natural sunlight to show your dress at its very best, and a special area just for tuxes!
Your Personalized Shopping Experience:
We offer a personalized experience with fun and relaxation as you choose your dress. For this reason, we suggest making an appointment to ensure we can focus all of our time and attention where it should be – on you, the bride! Here are a few tips to make your time with us even better:
- Please bring a few friends to help you find your dream gown – selecting a few trusted family members or friends, instead of a large group, can help make the process more enjoyable and less overwhelming. We can comfortable seat you and four guests for your shopping experience.
- In order to provide our guests with the best possible experience, we ask that children under the age of 10 not be present during the appointment.
- To keep our dresses picture perfect and our salon clean and beautiful, food and drinks are not permitted.
- When you book an appointment, we will reserve a fitting room just for you! Please let us know if you are running late or need to reschedule. We will set aside 90 minutes of time to focus solely on you, our bride. If you think you will need more time, please speak with us in advance.
- If possible, have a price range in mind. If you have photos of any dress styles that you like, bring them. The more information we have to get started, the easier it will be to help you find your dream dress!
- Saturdays are our busiest day – if you are interested in a more intimate, quieter experience, please call or email and ask us which dates and times would be best.

- Do I need an Appointment?
We can accommodate walk-ins, but do recommend setting an appointment so that we can offer you personalized service and devote our undivided attention and space to your wedding dress search. Our weekends are very busy with appointments – so please book ahead if possible.
- How should I prepare? What should I bring?
To protect our gowns and to give you the best possible experience, we recommend wearing only light make-up for your appointment. We offer a full range of supplies to provide the finishing touches to your gown – from undergarments to shoes to accessories. However, if you’ve already chosen specific items you would like to wear with your gown, please bring them with you.
- What are the prices of your gowns at The Dress Shop?
Our gowns range from $500 - $2500, but most fall between $899-$1,399. Bridesmaids, mother, and special occasions dresses range from $99 - $500.
- Do you carry each designer’s complete collection?
As a boutique, we carry a select number of gowns from each designer’s collection. If you are searching for a specific style, please feel free to call ahead.
- When should I buy my dress?
While several of our designers can accommodate rush orders for tight timelines, the average time needed to make your dress is four-six months, and most seamstresses require up to 2 months additional for alterations. We suggest purchasing a dress at least 8-12 months prior to your wedding date so that you have the necessary time built in for fittings and styling your complete wedding day look. For peace of mind, we highly recommend purchasing your gown 9-12 months before your wedding date.
- I ordered my dress, now what?
Your dress will be made just for you when you order! Expect a 4-6 month wait for the dress to come in; with shipping, it can even be a little bit longer. Of course, we will do our best – and can put a “rush” on the order if needed. Anxious to see your gorgeous dress? - Do you offer alterations?
Yes, we do offer alterations. We like to start the process 2 months before the wedding date. Please call to schedule your fittings as we do book up rather quickly!
- Can I bring a large party to my appointment?
We want your shopping experience to be perfect – and we believe a fun, intimate setting is the most enjoyable. Selecting a few trusted family members or friends to help you make your decisions, rather than a large group, can make the process more fun & less overwhelming. Please, no children or babies. If you have a larger party that will be in attendance, check out our Private Appointments that we offer on select evenings, more information is provided on our website.
