FIREWORKS IN YOUR FACE. DARK. SHARP.
Hudson, NY makes a huge deal out of Flag Day and then they blast off their aesthetic munitions from our parking lot. What else is there to do but throw a huge, goth, freak out dance party?
JUNE 10 - exactly what we’re gonna do.

Continuing to spotlight some of the DRONE artists - - taking hold of the DRONE at midnight will be composer / performer Raven Chacon, harnessing energies in an endurance set that will last until 3am
Seen here: a wild clip of Raven performing in an open desert landscape in New Mexico with percussionist Candace Hopkins, but do note that it is *impossible* to fit the breadth of Chacon’s important work into an Instagram reel
@ravenchcn / / a Pulitzer Prize–winning composer, performer, and installation artist from Fort Defiance, Navajo Nation whose expansive midnight endurance set will bridge the realms of delicate chamber music, searching noise, site specific installation, and unmoored performance

A lovely clip of Pauline Oliveros introducing the practice of Deep Listening®️
Oliveros remains a profound sonic visionary with a presence in the Hudson Valley’s, so it’s only appropriate that her work will conclude this year’s DRONE. Local artist and Deep Listening practitioner Lisa B. Kelley will facilitate a realization of Oliveros’ the Heart Chant, a powerful communal exercise

THIS THURSDAY — JULY 28:
Jackie West (@jacquelynwest) will perform along with Emily Ritz (@lumpland) and Shana Falana (@shanafalana) for our LAST #JupiterNights of the summer before we take return in September.
Jackie West is a singer/songwriter from Brooklyn whose music explores deep inner landscapes, depicting them through song as a means to find freedom within self and clear insight in life. West writes on classical guitar and transfers arrangements to play as a fully electric band which creates the opportunity to experience her songs in different setups.

John (they/them) is a genderqueer artist based in Denver. Their practice, both interdisciplinary and willfully undisciplined, is rooted in performance.
Current work is compelled by ritual, divination, magick, earth-based practice(s), and sound + spectral objects.

THIS THURSDAY - JUNE 30TH — Our new weekly series #JupiterNights welcomes local artist @benseretan (Troy, NY) to the stage, opening for producer/composer Debit @deliabeat (NYC). Doors & food by @local111restaurant at 7PM, link in bio for tickets!
Ben Seretan’s work morphs and shifts frequently – in 2018 he doled out My Life’s Work, a 24-hour-long piece of guitar drone autobiography but then followed it in early 2020 with Youth Pastoral, a mega-church-sized, full-band album about breaking up (with God) that was named one of the best of the year by Pitchfork (“bursting with exuberance”). Another left turn – 2021 brought Cicada Waves, a serene record consisting entirely of an antique piano and encountered sound from the Appalachian woods.
Aquarium Drunkard wrote, “There’s a moment towards the end where Seretan spontaneously duets with a nearby songbird and it’s one of the most magical things you’ll hear this (or any) year.”
Don’t miss it!
