Huge congratulations to our talented 6th graders Kennedy Drinovsky, Tori Lange, and Clara Hamer for making it into the prestigious OPUS Honor Choir! 🎶

This state-wide, auditioned honor choir recognizes the best young voices in Iowa, and we couldn’t be prouder of these three. Way to go, Kennedy, Tori, and Clara! 🌟

Come see some amazing singing and dancing choreographed by our very own JUNIOR, Ava Slade!!

Note: This musical is from the 1930’s and will reflect that time period with phrases and wording from when it was written.

Today was one of THE HARDEST days of the year for some awesome choir and band students, Allstate auditions. They got up today around 4:30am and got to the high school by 6:00 for some breakfast pizza and preparation. Then we left for Hampton Dumont CAL, where auditions are held.

4 band students and 11 choir students auditioned to be a part of the prestigious Allstate Band or Allstate Choir.

Band:
Brianna Allen (Clarinet), Steven Dekutoski (Percussion), Blake Farwell (Tuba) and Morgan Wittrock (Tenor Saxophone)

Choir:
Mikayla Dale, Alex Droste, Casey Greiman, Bridget Hansen, Maya Hoppes, Jaelynn Mentel, Preston Olson, Caitlyn Poppe, Brinkley Simmer, Rob Watson, and Clare Wetzel

Everyone did such an outstanding job and Hudson came away with SIX Allstate Choir members!!

We are proud of everyone and so excited for these 6 students!!

Tonight before choreography rehearsal at musical Mr. Stover’s sister came in and lead mindfulness exercises and yoga! Students got to check in on their mental health and take care of their bodies before going into a long rehearsal!

Shout out to Katie Slade for coming up with the idea and Sydney Stover for helping students to find compassion for themselves and their bodies!

10 boys had a great time at Wartburg today for the Rittersing honor choir! Thanks to Wartburg for a stellar event that gains so much excitement for tenor and bass singing! Such is life that the best picture we caught still has some interesting faces!! 😂😂
