Reception florals steal the show (and my heart) every time. I LOVE designing wedding bouquets, but a very close second for me are centerpieces and table designs!

The transformation florals and greenery make in an event space, especially a tent, is absolutely amazing! They soften, elevate, and add interest like no other decor item, but maybe I'm biased 😉 Added bonus, they smell AMAZING too!

This was one of my first weddings and forever one of my favorites 🤍

This was a really beautiful spring bouquet for Caylie (and Nate!) with my favorite tulips and gorgeous ranunculus. Spring flowers are sooooo sweet and romantic. Just as special as spring couples🤍🤍

Happy November 1st!

October was a very wild ride. Whew!!

I am very much looking forward to using the month of November to recooperate, rest, catch up on office work, and WORK ON THE FARM! Oh, how I've missed the farm. Dahlias need to get tucked in and covered, tulips need to get planted, and basically, the rest can wait until spring!

Really looking forward to ebbing with the flow of the slow season🤎

Well, I've dropped the ball on myself.

September ended the very busy growing season. We left for an epic trip to Sicily, where upon return, I became deathly ill with a stomach virus. I've also had three back to back weddings that were all prtty unique. It was so busy, but all pretty great (minus the rotovirus).

So I'm here to say that we have super cool black chrystal tye dye sweatshirts, mauve crewnecks, and tees available. They will be up on the website for another week or two.

This beauty right here!! Nikki, you were a dream to work with and flower for🤎 Thank you for trusting me with your all locally grown florals!

Nikki and Martin's late summer wedding was the perfect event to utilize our Growers Choice option. This is my PASSION, folks. Everything you see here was grown on our farm. We cut the best flowers and foliage that week had to offer - no promises, besides gorgeous flowers!

If you are a little bit more flexible with your flower colors and choices, have an in season wedding that is small to moderately sized, this is definitely the option you should look into.

The last leg of the trip after Marsala/Trapini was a stop to Erice and a super quick stop in Terrasini before the airport. Erice was a must-see medieval town with spectacular views, and Terrasini was a small town with a very cool vibe.

This native plant, Pycnanthemum muticum, or blunt mountain mint is a pollinator favorite around here!

This is one of the ways we weed....this mutineer hoe from @neversink has helped us keep our low till beds virtually weed free. All my beds are not this easy to take care of (I'm looking at you older perennial beds) but we're going on year 2 of keeping crab grass seedlings under control in the dahlia garden and if you would have seen that garden 2 years ago you'd be VERY impressed today. I'm not a perfect gardner/farmer, my systems aren't perfect, but we've finally gained some control over the weeds and are able to grow beautiful things without being overwhelmed by weeds. But it only works if I can keep up!😳😆 #weedingflowers #lowtillfarming #notillflowers #mutineerhoe #doingmybest

I soaked and prespouted Ranunculus corms yesterday! I LOVE these flowers but haven't grown them yet....hopefully this is the year🤞🏻 I have the perfect cold room in my basement for presprouting and in about two weeks I will plant them up in a crate. Then I'll do it again when the big order gets here. Getting my hands in some dirt was kind of the best 😃 Still figuring out the best place to "plant" them because spring weather in MI is 🥴🙄🤨🥵☀️🥶❄😧😣😤🌧😬😳🤦🏼‍♀️🌱 #ranunculus #presproutingranunculus #wintergrowing #springflowers #blackdogmeadowsflowerfarm

Black Dog Meadows Flower Farm is a seasonal flower farm is located in Hudson, MI. We believe in growing healthy and beautiful flowers that help sustain our butterfly and bee populations. Our designs are inspired by nature and all its unfettered gifts. We grow, we forage, and we are inspired daily by the beauty that is cultivated in our flower fields and out in our wild meadows.

During the growing season, we offer a number of services: design work for weddings, selling wholesale to local florists and event designers, Growers Choice Floral Buckets for your DIY wedding and events in colors and styles of your choice, deliver gorgeous arrangements to your friends and loved ones, and can do floral bouquets, arrangements, or centerpieces for your dinner party, baby shower, wedding shower, or 4th of July bash.

During the off season and holiday season, we offer wreath or centerpiece workshops, fresh Christmas greens arrangements, and wedding or event floristy. Inquire at any time about scheduling a workshop or class for a holiday party, work function, or ladies day.

The 2020 growing season will be upon us soon and it is going to be a good one! We will be growing so much more variety, volume, and color choices. I cannot wait to work with you, flower for you, and grow...both outside and in.
