Pastor Ladd and Pastor Kris have an update on the Soup-er Bowl Food Collection! Don't forget to bring your donations to worship this Sunday! The Hudson Food Shelf is looking for non-perishable food items, and paper goods (kleenex, paper towels, toilet paper and diapers) to replenish supplies.

You may also make a monetary donation. Please write "Food Bank" on the memo line of your check made out to Bethel or simply make your check out to "Food Bank". Checks may be dropped in the collection baskets.

The Memorial Service for Lillian Chukel has been rescheduled to Saturday, March 1st at the Bethel Highlands Campus. The visitation will begin at 11:00AM with the memorial service starting at Noon. A meal will follow.

Lillian's Obtuary:
Lillian Chukel, passed away on January 31, 2025, at the age of 86 with family by her side. Born on January 4, 1939, to parents Laverne and Lorena Lundgren. She graduated from Elmwood High School and went on to become an executive secretary for many organizations, most recently Junior Achievement. In 1964 Lillian married the love of her life Thomas Chukel and they enjoyed 60 years of marriage.

Lillian was known for her vibrant spirit, particularly during the holiday season, with Christmas being her favorite time of year. Her home was always beautifully adorned, reflecting her love for decorating and bringing joy to those around her. She had a knack for creating warm and inviting spaces that welcomed family and friends alike.

Beyond her love for the holidays, Lillian found peace and joy in nature, often spending her days fishing at Red Cedar Lake or enjoying tranquil evenings by the campfire, where stories and laughter echoed under the stars. She also cherished the simple pleasures of life, including playing cards with friends and family. Her musical talents shone brightly in her younger years as a member of the choir, where her voice connected her with her faith and community.

She is survived by her loving husband Thomas, sons Tom (Peggy) Chukel and Tim (Stephanie) Chukel; grandchildren Kevin, Karyn, Lauren, and Darren; brother Gary Lundgren. She is preceded in death by her sons Mike Smith and Terry Smith; brother Herman Lundgren; parents Laverne and Lorena Lundgren.

Yesterday, we came together after worship to acknowledge our community, celebrate 2024 accomplishments, and discuss our plans for the year ahead. We want to extend a huge thank you to everyone who joined us for the annual meeting. Your presence and participation are invaluable to us, and we're grateful for your commitment to Bethel!

A special thank you to the Annual Celebration Committee (Koreen Theisen, Lisa Wilt, Sheila Johnson, Pastor Ladd Sonnenberg, and Hannah Cobian) who planned the event, and to the Council Representatives and the 9th grade Confirmation students and leaders who volunteered to support the event!
