Today, we share the story of Jassmen and James, previous winners of our Weddings for Warriors Program:
"James and I met in 2015, neither one of us taking it too seriously in the beginning, but as we began talking more, we fell head over heels for each other. We were completely smitten, talking all day and all night. Then life hit, as life tends to do when we least expect it. We drifted apart and a year later got back in contact with each other. We have been inseparable ever since. James started in the military, personal struggles arose for me and truthfully as we found ourselves individually – we grew more closer together; never letting the other go. We did long distance until I could move to Florida, where he was based, and moved around a bit. Then, when we were able to, we both moved back to Houston; which I guess brings us to the present. To put it lightly these past few years – this year particularly has been extremely tough and heartbreaking. I’ve had to say goodbye to a lot of people that have held me together through most of my life and adjusting to the new normal has been rough. To win the wedding for warriors contest has been a Godsend and we can’t thank you guys enough for doing this. We can’t wait to start this journey."
