And that’s a wrap on Funktafest 8 and 2024! Thank you once again to all the businesses, organizations, sponsors, volunteers, musicians, artists, coordinators, vendors, and of course, YOU, the attendee for making this year a special one!

As is tradition, Funktafest selects an area charity to donate a portion of our monies at the end of each fiscal year to pass it forward to a community organization whose mission is to help those who aren’t as fortunate. This year, we are happy to announce that we have selected the Huntington City Mission to receive our donation.

We’re excited to bring Funktafest 9 to you in 2025. Look forward to us continuing to bring the funky goods with some exciting developments and changes in the works to hopefully make this year the best one yet!

We hope everybody has a Funky and Prosperous 2025!
Happy New Year!

Peace, love, and funkiness,
Funkle Sam and EyeGuy of Funktafest

I still need a few more trustworthy volunteers in a few positions at Funktafest 8 this Saturday, Oct. 12th at the Ritter Park amphitheater. It's mainly help during the 6-10pm shift, plus I need a need a runner / gopher for a few short periods of time to pick up catering (you must have a car) after noon through 6pm. I also need a few able bodied people to help break down the sound and light production at 10pm. Lastly, the most visible position of all, I need a few EyeGuy / EyeGal mascot positions filled from 2-4pm, 4-6pm, 6-8pm, and 8-10pm.

I know I'm asking for people to work, but Funktafest isn't a normal "work" environment. It's a lot of fun, you'll get to meet some really awesome people, you get a free t-shirt, enjoy some great hospitality, and if you've still got a little left in the tank, we take care of your admission to the afterparty at THE LOUD after the festival.

It's win-win! Any person who's interested, please feel free to DM me personally or sign up at Funktafest.com under the "Volunteers" tab. Help spread the word by tagging a friend who might be interested or share this post. Heck, volunteering is more fun anyway when you have a friend of family member; I'll put you together on a shift!

Funktafest Prepping for Epic Fourth Annual Daylong Festival

By DAVE LAVENDER The Herald Dispatch

HUNTINGTON — As Earth Wind and Fire asked so well in their hit song, "Do you remember the 21st night of September?"

Huntington festival organizers Parry Casto and Joe Troubetaris sure hope so because once again they are teaming up to use a sweet flow of music to change the minds of pretenders and chase the clouds way.

For the fourth year, the dynamic duo is teaming up with a host of sponsors to present Funktafest that will roll 11:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 21, at Ritter Park Amphitheater with an all-you-can-groove music festival that features some of the top funk, jam, reggae and other groove-related musicians.
