Mark Your Calendars!

Alabama A&M and partners will hold the first North Alabama Ag Expo on Saturday, November 2, 2024, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at AAMU's Agribition Center. The Ag Expo is a free, family-friendly event exploring all aspects of urban and traditional agriculture in North Alabama.

What can you expect?
Attendees can view the latest agricultural equipment, technology, and research. Pick up some valuable information to help you in your agricultural endeavors. Engage in fun, family-friendly activities and possibly win a door prize too!

How can you participate?
You can participate as an attendee, sponsor, exhibitor, or vendor. It’s the ideal event for farmers, food producers, agricultural business owners, students, educators, or anyone interested in the agricultural industry in North Alabama.

Madison County Extension to Host Invasive Plant Management Workshop on July 23, 2024, at the Agribition Center.

Participants must pre-register for $25, and seating is limited to the first 50 registrants. Registration includes a seat at the seminars and field demonstrations, lunch, printed presentation materials, and related publications.

This Invasive Plant Management Workshop will provide homeowners and land managers of all types a great opportunity to better understand what makes plants invasive and how to properly identify, prevent, and control some of the more common and problematic invasive and exotic plant species.

Design Your Home Landscape Course, Wednesdays, 10:00–Noon from August 7–September 11 at the Agribition Center. For registration info, send email to: [email protected]

The Landscape Team of Master Gardeners of North Alabama is excited to announce a six week DIY landscape design class which will beginning in early August.
These classes feature helpful information, design shortcuts, and
one-on-one sessions with a MGNA Landscape Team Member. The team's goal is to assist homeowners with selecting hardy, well-adapted plants that work well with your landscape preferences and needs, and that will thrive in your growing conditions with minimal maintenance and pesticide requirements. Plant recommendations are based on ACES (Alabama Cooperative Extension System) and other research-based sources. See flyer below for dates, location and additional details regarding the course.
If you are interested in taking the landscape course, please send an email to [email protected] stating your interest. You will be put on a contact list
and will be sent an email in early July with a link to a Sign Up Genius registration. Class size is limited due to individual MG/student consultations during classes. Registration will be first come, first served (no early registration) and is not confirmed until payment (non-refundable) is received.
