Come be a part of Texas history. Our three-day event offers a variety of historical and cultural experiences for every member of the family. Everyone will have the chance to witness firsthand folklife as it was on the Texas frontier. The Sam Houston Memorial Museum’s fifteen-acre grounds are transformed into a bustling Texas frontier settlement where you can watch historical reenactments and demonstrators, listen to live music, sip some homemade root beer, share a bag of kettle corn, shop for crafts or simply stroll the homestead where Sam and Margaret Houston lived and the place their children played. 2020 DATES & TIMES: May 15, Friday, 9am—3pm May 16, Saturday, 10am—6pm May 17, Sunday, Noon—5pm ADMISSION: Adult (13 and up) $5 per day Child (4-12) $3 per day Children 3 and under are free ---------------------------- For even more stuff to do while in Huntsville go to http://huntsvilletexas.com Documentary from footage of the first Folk Festival in 1988: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tibu3AqC4j8&feature=youtu.be Our General Sam Houston Folk Festival website has all the forms needed for our Craft and Food Vendors.
