Go past McDonald’s on 412E in Huntsville. Cross over bridge. Immediately at the end of bridge turn right on County Road 2340. Stay on 2340 for approximately 3 miles. The road will split. In the Y there is a house with green metal roof and big rock in yard. Stay left and immediately turn left into our driveway. The house is at the top of hill. So this week’s “Teaching Tuesday” @ The Plantation House was tonight and I had a very special helper! Klayleigh, my granddaughter who is 3 and a half years old. Like the other grandkids she loves baking! She is learning to crack eggs, and tonight was introduced to zesting a lemon. Together we learned how to make a recipe from the 1800’s…German Apple Pie! It was very tasty!

I love this time of year when I can make a trip to In The Pines to get my pumpkins to decorate with. They have such unusual varieties! Klayleigh got her pumpkins there too! It will soon be time for the other grands to go and pick out theirs!

Get your pajamas ready! Christmas Pajama tea party for ages 4-8 at The Plantation House! Friday December 8th, 2023 at 6:30pm. Tea party and story time designed specifically for the littles. We will be fully decorated for Christmas! Limited space so book early. $30 for 1 child, $7.50 for 2nd child and includes 1 mandatory adult age 18 and up. No more than 2 children per adult. I can never get enough of the tranquil sunsets here at The Plantation House, my home! It just takes my breath away! I also thought what an amazing backdrop to take a photo of my beautiful new to me special tea pot and sugar cream set. I know there are many memories that it holds and there will be many more created! Michelle Coger Marsh it is a blessing to have this!

The Plantation House introduces their latest…Murder Mystery Dinner! You are a character from the late 1930’s aboard the last train from Paris. 4 Ladies and 4 Gents required (changes can not be made on the Characters). Elegant dinner and exciting mystery! A memorable time! Perfect for couples date night or group of friends. Price for the Murder Mystery Dinner is $35.00 per person. Time period costumes are not required but definitely adds to the experience.

I am beyond excited that I was able to get a fabulous set of Royal Albert Old Country Rose China from my cousin Dale’s Auction! I have wanted this set for some time now but never came across a great deal until now! The timing and price just fit! Thanks to my hubby Jeff and thank you Dale From Dale DeLaPorte Auction in Hannibal Missouri! I can not wait to use it for a tea party or dinner!!!

Scone of the month for August is a delicious Cinnamon Toasted Oatmeal Scone. I like mine with apple butter but you can use any jam you prefer or just eat it without any topping!

I have thoroughly been enjoying having groups in for the Murder Mystery Tea Parties at The Plantation House. I love setting the table with all the china and making all the tea sandwiches, scones and sweets! And the best part is being with friends, making new friends and seeing them enjoying an afternoon of fun!

Christmas in almost July! It is never too early to get your Christmas bargains for decorating! I am parting with this beautiful 7.5 foot pre-lit tree. The tree is a Dillard’s tree and retail was almost $700 dollars. All the lights are in working order. These pictures were just now taken. Very full and as you can see the branches come fairly low to the floor. It has special limbs to help keep its shape in packing. I am parting with it for $75. Private message me if interested.
