One of the best things I’ve ever done for my photography business is letting go of perfection and being present ❤️ I totally understand that when you invest in documenting your family it can be hard to let go of the “picture perfect” vision you had in mind. Unrealistic expectations and creating authentic moments don’t go hand in hand. Kids have limited attention spans, toddlers tantrum, weather changes. The best thing you can do is slow down and lean into documenting the moment and whatever stage of life you are in. This session was one of the windiest I’ve ever had, and I come from a place literally called Hurricane 😂 The wind didn’t stop us from creating some beautiful moments. I’m so thankful for families who trust in what I do.

Capturing this intimate wedding amidst the natural beauty of Zion National Park was a dream come true. Witnessing Chance and Kelsey’s love in such a stunning setting was truly unforgettable. ❤️ I may live by the ocean now, but these red rocks will always have my heart.

“Ashalee captured natural, gorgeous photos for my family while we were on Oahu. With braces and having gained weight, I haven’t felt myself and beautiful in a while. Happy Aloha Friday! 🌺 It’s always a little nerve wracking photographing another photographers family but I loved being able to capture the joy this cute little family brought to their session 💖 Bella and Brachen are a very talented duo! I’m so happy I was able to document some moments during their visit to the island.

We woke up with the sun for these photos and got rained on endlessly right as we finished. It was 100% worth it all. ❤️ I’ve known Tracie & Ivan for over 10 years and have photographed them in various stages of life. Their wedding, new home, birth etc. and I think this one is my favorite so far. Capturing these moments of them and their sweet babe watching the sunrise felt like a full circle moment. ❤️ I’m so grateful for friends and clients who trust me to document what stage of life they are in.

I will be dreaming about this session for a while 😍 I loved getting to shoot alongside some amazing photographers. ❤️ Something that’s been a bit more of an adjustment since moving to Hawai’i is finding a creative community.
