Congrats to the happy couple and their beautiful wedding Saturday.
If you’re wondering why you would need a day of coordinator, let me explain.
Our services state timeline creation, timeline management, vendor management, review of contract etc.
The contract doesn’t tell you that you will spend all day getting hair and makeup, getting into your dress, taking photos and spending those precious moments with family and close friends.
Saturday, on top of what my services outlined, I picked up bouquets at the shop, stored them until they were needed, waited for the rental company and help set up chairs and the arch, answered vendor and officiant questions (because there’s always last minute questions. I carried the train of the brides gown while taking photos and all the way up to the end of the aisle so it wouldn’t get dirty before she walked the aisle. I lit candles at the reception, pulled the lids off the buffet, refilled the popcorn station when it got low, brought the bride and groom drinks if needed, handled spills and even helped pick up empty plates and drinks. And that’s only half.

There is a lot more than what you think, and friends and family want to be a part of your special day, not working it. So hire me, to take away that stress and let everyone enjoy your celebration.

Why would you need a day of coordinator? You can create your own timeline, you can plan your wedding, you have family to help decorate and run things.
You need time to enjoy your day, to have fun. To have moments like in these photos. You don’t want to worry about when to line everyone up for the ceremony, to make sure the decor is set up properly. And your family and friends, even if they don’t have parts in your wedding, want to have time to watch you get married, to celebrate. Day of coordination is a job, and you don’t want those close to you working and stessing at your celebration. Let me do that.

Pro tip: FEED the bride. Bring snacks, bring water, make sure the bride eats before the reception. Getting ready often starts early in the AM and there is so much excitement, food is usually the last thing on her mind, and while alcohol is typically available, sometimes water is more scarce. Staying hydrated and fed is so important for anyone involved in the wedding. And you don’t want the bride passing out before she walks down the aisle!

I am a wedding planner and day of coordinator. I am NOT a bartender. But will I step behind the bar and pour a drink while the bartender gets a bite to eat or go to the bathroom. Absolutely. Why? Because I believe my job is to take care of the wedding, including the vendors. And on your special day vendors should work together to make sure it is the best day possible.

Side note: another reason I check contracts, to make sure I am allowed to do this without a risk of liability before I do. But in that case, I will stand there and let guests know the bartender will be back shortly.
