The Burt building, nestled in Hutchinson’s historic antique district at the corner of West Avenue B and South Main, has a rich past. Originally home to The Shaw Theater in 1901, architect C.L. Burt reconstructed it after the devastating 1929 flood. Over the years, its first-floor storefronts ranged from drug stores to beauty shops, cafés to auto repair shops. The second floor? That was the legendary Crystal Ballroom, hosting lively dances and bands for decades.
In 2017, Fair City Folk Art acquired this historic gem, originally planning a Folk Art museum. But, we couldn’t resist the opportunity to revive the Crystal Ballroom! With modern amenities and timeless elegance, it's once again the perfect space to celebrate your special events.
