GTHS had the great honor of hosting 45 students from University of the Bundeswehr Munich that are attending University of Austin in July and August. It's the 45th year of the partnership between Bundeswehr Munich and UT.

GTHS members and Bundeswehr students spent the evening in the gardens getting to know each other and exchanging ideas over dinner and refreshments.

On June 8th, GTHS will host a German Auto Show in front of the GTHS building. We will close off the street allowing guests to see cars from Porsche Austin, Audi, Mercedes, Volkswagen Autonomous Vehicles, BMW Driving Experience at COTA, along with old timers and exotic from various club and GTHS members.
Event Cost: $10 proceeds will support year-round children's programs as well to help offset costs for the restoration of the German Free School historical staircase.

Beyond the automobiles, guests can enjoy music performances inside the GTHS historical gardens. German food and drinks

Pizza and Frozen Spaghetti Ice Cream Dessert is a Kid Fan Fav
IM Catering hosted its second cooking class April 20th teaching excited kids to make homemade pizza and a German dessert spaghetti ice cream.
During Chef Ines’ last class (Spaghetti Bolognese) she asked the kids what else they would like to learn to cook and PIZZA was the answer.
So on April 20th kids learned to roll dough, make sauce and add their favorite toppings to their very own pizza. As a special treat, the kids also made spaghetti ice cream. This fun dessert is made by pressing vanilla ice cream through a spaetzle press to make ‘noodles’, then topped with strawberry sauce and white chocolate shavings.
This fun dessert is well-known in Germany. Invented by the son of an Italian immigrant named Dario Fontanella in his ice cream parlor in Mannheim, Germany in 1969.
Now the kids at the German Texan Heritage Society know how to make it too!
Stay tuned for upcoming classes. These engaging 2 hour classes are appropriate for children ages 5-10. The small class size of 10 or less with 2 instructors allows each child to have individual attention.
The fun environment lets kids learn and truly enjoy the art of cooking. At the end all the children will enjoy eating the meal they created and leave with a written recipe to make again at home!

Hand’s On Interactive Kids Cooking Class on March 2nd from 12.30 pm – 2.30 pm

Join our hand’s on, kid’s cooking class. Chef Ines Mosley (https://im-catering.com/) will share basic cooking skills in an easy to understand way for your children to learn. In hand’s on class, your child will learn to make an all-time fav spaghetti Bolognese and fruit cups.

This engaging 2 hour class is appropriate for children ages 5-10. The small class size of 10 or less with 2 instructors allows each child to have individual attention.

The fun environment lets kids learn and truly enjoy the art of cooking. At the end all the children will enjoy eating the meal they created and leave with a written recipe to make again at home!

Date: March 2nd from 12.30 pm – 2.30 pm.
