So I've finally retired the Wax House Website. It didn't make sense for to me to keep paying for the domain and web site platform when I wasn't updating any of the info on the site, but I do have on hand a list of all the shows that occurred at the Wax house, the dates and most of the fliers if you ever for some reason want that information. It's been long enough since the closing of the Wax House that I might have some valuable reflection on the experience and I plan to work on a historical zine in the spring. More info to come.

Kudos to The Sickhouse, The Celt, The Brick House, Krung Threp and all the new places that support live music that have popped up in IF since the Wax House was opened (and the people that make the shows happen of course.)

OMG, yeah I haven't really posted anything since the Wax House closed last October. I've been meaning to post some kind of thorough history and archived stuff to the website, but, you know I've got new projects distracting me already. I have put on a few house shows recently, but nothing steady. And you're welcome to email the wax house still, I'll ask around to try to set up a show but my resources are limited so sorry if I don't get back to you. There is a show at my house this Friday. Address is 383 N Placer Ave. It's a cool ambient, experimentalish band called the Burdock King and a poppy, funpunk band called The Family Bed who are touring with them plus newly formed local punk band the Jabronis. Yay! Come! Please donate a bit for gas money if you can, but no one will be excluded. 8:00pmish

A lot of regulars at the Wax House already know this, but I would like to make an official declaration that the Wax House will be closing at the end of our buildings lease, September 31 2013. Our last show is planned for September 21. I would like to take time away from putting on shows and focus on saving money and rethinking logistics. Thanks a million times to everyone who has helped out at the Wax House and come to shows. I'm really excited about what has been happening in this community: burgeoning creativity and cooperation amongst different groups of people within the scene. Having shows with regular frequency is totally a possibility in Idaho Falls. Where to do it is sometimes the tricky part. A lot of people have expressed interest to me about wanting to be involved in a venue or starting one themselves. There are a lot of different routes to take. I suggest that you communicate with each other if you are in this pool of people. Post something on Southeast Idaho Music Scene or on our Facebok page. Get in touch and make something happen if you so desire. This summer has been magical and full of incredible performances. You can view our calendar of upcoming shows on our website at www.waxhouse208.com or look at our Facebook events in chronological order in the "events" section of this page. Mercia and Apathean tonight, There is no mountain and Grandma Kelsey on Thursday, Blood and Thunder next Saturday, Trap Her Keep Her the Following Tuesday, not to mention Lord Dying, Gregory Rollins, Sneeze, Sad Horse, Danny the Skeleton Horse, the Local Hip-hop festival and Sun Blood Stories.
