Bridal Concierge Services- Wedding Day

This year has been another full year of Bridal Concierge Services and I'm so thankful brides love this service as much as I love providing it! After pressing and steaming the wedding gown, veil, bridesmaid dresses and anything else that needs a press (pj's are always a last minute add!), I stay with the bride and help her get dressed, help with her veil, help reapply make-up, help with any fashion mishaps, help with photos- pretty much help with anything so that you and your bridal party can relax and enjoy the day bc it goes by quickly!

Something White Bridal Concierge Wedding Day:
Starting in 2025, Bridal Concierge Wedding Day is going into its 5th wedding season! This service supports the bride, family and attendants on the wedding day to ensure the fashion side of the day runs smoothly without any wrinkles, rips or mishaps. I come to your last fitting, assist with picking up your gown from alterations, pressing, dressing and styling you and your bridal party throughout the wedding day.

LEGO Bouquet

This past week, I had a bride who was having a small, intimate weekday wedding and wanted to incorporate her grandchildren into the ceremony knowing they wouldn't be able to attend the ceremony. Since her grandchildren are LEGO obsessed she came up with the idea of asking each grandchild to make a a LEGO flower and she would carry them as her bouquet. Having LEGO obsessed children of my own, we chatted about how it might be difficult to hold just LEGO flowers and it might be a good idea to incorporate real flowers into the bouquet to fill it out. Staple and Layer (https://www.stapleandlayer.com) made the bouquet and it turned out better than I could have ever imagined! I love how it's a subtle nod to LEGO and her grandchildren while still feeling bridal and looking beautiful.

New Gown!

Love this new gown that just arrived from Suzanne Neville (https://www.somethingwhitebridal.com/bridal-gown-designers) ! If you don't know, Suzanne's gowns are made BY HAND by one person from start to finish in London and 99% of her gowns come with internal corsets. Why am I drawing attention to the internal corset? Because they are amazing! They provide support, a waist, visible boning without being too exposing and the thing I love the most- you can adjust the "snugness" on your wedding day. Feeling stressed and want your gown tighter? No problem. The bubbles in the champagne are making you feel full? Let's let it out a bit. I love the flexibility it provides on your wedding day to ensure you feel comfortable and confident all day long. Oh and don't worry you don't see the corset in the back of the gown- it's hidden inside!

It’s always hard to decide which 10 photos to post of my brides but this wedding was especially hard! and you both knocked it out of the park- can you tell my family just finished up baseball season.

Sounds cliche to start a newsletter with a sentence about the weather, but can you believe it's already spring in Ohio and wedding season is upon us?! These photos needed a permanent place in my feed. If I had to sum up Something White in photography, it would be these photos. Classic, sophisticated and effortless; not stuffy and not boring, just beautiful.

The “team” that made these photos come together are really just people who found a love for weddings years ago, found each other in the process and found out we mesh so well together style wise and personality wise. Thankful for industry friends.

Starting a new business is hard, especially if it's brick and mortar- I know I've been there. With my new space I have the unique opportunity to help other small businesses start (and hopefully flourish!) without the financial risk of leasing a space for years. It's a great way to test a new concept or expand your home business into a brick and mortar. Think of it as Airbnb for businesses.

Bridal Showers | Bachelorette Parties

Food and fashion together is nothing new. Back in the early days of high fashion retail, customers would attend luncheons while viewing the newest designer offerings. Being surrounded by racks of beautiful clothing while sipping on champagne was a lovely way to spend time with friends and family. This marriage (pun intended!) of food and fashion is coming back and with the new Something White space I am excited to be at the forefront of this idea in Cleveland.

Something White (https://www.somethingwhitebridal.com/rental) is now available to rent for many of your gathering events for up to 30 people! I love the idea of hosting bridal showers and low key bachelorette parties while being surrounded by beautiful gowns. It just feels simple (no decor needed) and sweet and different.

Imagine guests arriving and perusing the wedding gowns while waiting for the remaining guests to arrive. Then there is a seated afternoon tea luncheon at a long table with toasts and wedding planning chit chat before moving to the seating area to open gifts, have treats and enjoy everyones company. Sareh Nouri Gown Event

If you follow Something White on Instagram (https://www.instagram.com/reel/C376Xmhg631/?igsh=MzNlNnl3aHBoNnQ4) you probably already saw the big announcement but just in case I wanted to send out an email! Something White is now carrying Eisen Stein Bridal (https://eisen-stein.com) and I could not be more excited!

Finding a new designer is no small feat and it often feels like dating! I first need to find a designer that catches my eye and has gowns that fit my store aesthetic, live up to my construction and fabric standards, fit my customer's price points and is unique and can't be found at multiple bridal stores in Ohio. Then I need to schedule a meeting where me and the designer chat and get to know each other. I want to feel good about the company that I am going to be in a relationship with and know that they are honest and helpful and overall just nice humans. On their side, they are vetting me and Something White the same way! They need to feel confident that I will represent their product appropriately and have a good reputation in the bridal world b/c it's amazing how small the bridal world is.

After roughly a year of discussions, I'm happy to announce this "partnership" and I think you will love these gowns as much as I do. They are airy and textured and soft (figuratively and literally) and compliment the designers I already carry.

Oh and for those who are even more interested in the behind the scenes of running a bridal store business: the gowns in my store are not on loan, I purchase them and treat them as the investments that they are! This is one reason I don't carry every gown from each of my designers- it's not financially feasible and also not every gown from a designer is going to fit my type of store. BUT I do have Trunk Shows/Gown Events throughout the year so you can see gowns that I don't carry, which is the perfect segue...

Sareh Nouri had some gowns passing through Ohio and I couldn't let them pass with out stopping by my store on the way! Sareh is classic and sophisticated and elegant and something you will never look back on with regret. Real Bride Interview

"Always kind, always helpful" is in the Something White IG profile and it's true. For most brides, this is their first time on a wedding journey and you don't know what you don't know- right?! There are lots of questions and looking online can yield different results based on location, price point, year you got married etc. To help answer some of these real life questions, I recently sent a survey to some of my past brides asking them questions in hopes that their answers would help the next generation of brides. Ceremony location: Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Cleveland

Reception location: The Regency Hyatt Arcade in Cleveland

How long was your engagement?: Unintentionally four years - we got engaged in 2018 while I was still in residency and we wanted a June 2020 wedding but COVID-19 had other plans. We still did a very small civil ceremony on our original date of June 20, 2020 (because what a perfect date!) which was actually very sweet. We got married with a judge under a gazebo with our photographer Jenny Haas documenting the occasion and had a very small and casual (three close family members) outdoor reception at a winery afterwards. Our religious ceremony and reception with all family and friends was April 9 2022.

What did you love most about your wedding/wedding planning process?: "I really loved every bit of it - even when we got dealt a tough hand with the pandemic delay, I looked at the silver lining of it (eventually) to get to plan even more details, add more music, more flowers, and to really go big or go home.

The early days of planning right when we got engaged were fun too because they were so full of possibility and so creative. It was incredibly fun to go through quizzes and discover my “wedding style” and to run through lists of venues and see what lined up with what we envisioned for our celebration! I also really enjoyed and HIGHLY recommend the light blue Martha Stewart WEDDINGS book. Leave it to Martha to be right about everything but she truly had the most amazing suggestions for flowers and music. (Ennio Morricone for entrance processional anyone?)

I also really loved planning what I would be wearing for the wedding. Trying on wedding dresses is my Roman Empire. Just kidding (or am I?) I went to two other dress shops in Ohio before finding my technicolor Oz at Something White. I loved my experience there and found that Rebecca chose such a perfect selection of gowns to try - I loved so many but had the classic “THE DRESS” moment with a beautiful long sleeved lace Pronovias design which I knew was perfect for the ceremony. Sunshine was literally streaming in through the window onto the soft ivory lace and it all felt so magical. I knew I wanted two looks (one for ceremony and one for reception) so I planned an NYC trip back to my old stomping grounds to get my friends there in on the wedding planning fun. It was an enjoyable experience for sure - we went to Kleinfeld’s, Mark Ingram, and Wedding Atelier, and they had some gorgeous gowns but I realized that some of the gowns I had seen at Something White spoke to me more. I ended up choosing a beautiful second look gown there (and then eventually added a third look because like I said - go big or go home)!

Apart from searching for the looks for the big day (including shoes and jewelry - shoutout to Verstolo), I also loved meeting with my wedding planners, headed by Kelly O’Connor of A Charming Fête, to review decor ideas, lighting concepts, menu ideas etc. I just loved the idea of creating a perfect fun day to celebrate not only our love, but our gratitude for our family and friends who had supported us on this journey. I especially loved planning the flowers because I am at baseline flower OBSESSED. We worked with Heather Thomas of HeatherLily and her team to create a vibrant colorful display that my guests still mention fondly TO THIS DAY! Words don’t do justice to the beauty HeatherLily created."

What did you like least about your wedding/wedding planning process?: It was stressful to deal with the realities of cost that come with wedding planning. However, I think that as long as you plan carefully, are open with your partner and family (if they’re contributing) about cost and priorities, it all works out in the end.

Is there anything you would change about your wedding/wedding planning process?: Nope! We lucked out and I think because I had listened to magazines/other brides about their regrets/suggestions, I knew to really prioritize photography and videography. I found a great photographer in Jenny Haas who was with us from so early on in the process and had really gotten to know us as a couple. She made us feel so comfortable and captured the day so beautifully. Our videographers - Chris and Julie from Wedding Stories in Motion - were soooo perfect too and captured our beautiful ceremony and meaningful moments so well.

What advice would you give a bride based on your experience? Could be anything wedding related/shower related/registry related etc: I would encourage all brides to (within reason) go for their dreams! This is a (hopefully) once in a lifetime day and usually it’s one that you may end up fantasizing about for a long time - maybe even from the time you were a little girl! Life is hard enough as it is, and the world seems to be getting crazier - so it’s truly a blessing to be able to look back upon a fabulously perfect day and reflect on the gratitude you feel for that. I love my memories of my wedding day and I often look back at my photos and videos fondly.

Did I miss anything? Use this to write anything you want!: A brief note on music - my husband and I really love music and we knew early on we wanted several different types of live music. What I didn’t realize is the degree to which the live music elevated the energy and atmosphere of the day. If you are considering live music, I would highly recommend it! Even in our ceremony, we worked on creating a mini-orchestra and choir from some groups located in Cleveland, headed by Opus 216 and including members of the Cleveland Orchestra! It brought tears to my eyes to hear such beautiful music and created such a sacred magical atmosphere! Our cocktail hour had a “big band” Glenn Miller type theme which was created by an amazing jazz trio. Then, for our full reception, we had a 12 piece band that played classic old standards of Frank Sinatra and Ella Fitzgerald and later transitioned to high energy modern hits. It kept our guests on the dance floor all the way to the end of the night!

What did you like least about your wedding/wedding planning process?: Long distance planning — even with a coordinator — was often very challenging!

Is there anything you would change about your wedding/wedding planning process?: Yes, using a coordinator who wasn’t connected with venue. They were helpful, but usually had the venue’s interest at heart versus my needs and desires.

What advice would you give a bride based on your experience? Could be anything wedding related/shower related/registry related etc: Definitely buy a dress from Rebecca at Something White! It was the best experience! Splurge on a photographer you can trust with the whole day — the coordination of the details and confidence in quality of images. Don’t underestimate the power of beautiful florals!

Did I miss anything? Use this to write anything you want!: Thank you for so beautifully capturing my vision in the dress that you showed to me — even when I didn’t know myself! It was like you saw me and heard the outline for what I wanted and you NAILED IT! You were a dream to work with and I’ll always recommend you to other brides!

How long was your engagement?: 1 year, 5 months

What did you love most about your wedding/wedding planning process?: "I loved the details! Both the ring and my dress came from drawings I had sketched for fun. I also drew my own “Save the Dates.” In my opinion, I had the best florist (a close friend) that helped me design not only the florals but helped fine tune the day’s beauty. I also felt that I made friends in the process of planning- other girls who were getting married around the same time, vendors, my photographer, and so many more (I must mention Rebecca here too!).

I wanted to make everything personal- my now husband and I wrote notes to be placed with all of our guests menus, and there were nearly 300! I wanted the day to be special for all involved. The reception was at the same location that my parents were married. The wedding felt like a big party with all of our favorite people. The band was absolutely amazing! I loved all of these elements but mostly loved that the day ultimately ended in me marrying my best friend."

What did you like least about your wedding/wedding planning process?: I am very self-motivated, so I found it difficult to be patient. There were meetings that did not always take place on my own timeline. A lot came together within the last two weeks of planning, which was frustrating.

Is there anything you would change about your wedding/wedding planning process?: I honestly wish I had scheduled Rebecca to assist with my gown day of! Looking at photos (which are just beautiful), I notice small details that I am sure could have been improved had Rebecca been present.

What advice would you give a bride based on your experience? Could be anything wedding related/shower related/registry related etc: I would recommend planning ahead and stay true to you! It is so easy to fall into “comparison syndrome” of other weddings. Avoid letting trends or vendors sway you in a certain direction. Early on in the planning process, I had hoped to have an “on-trend” wedding. As time went on, I changed my tune and decided to stick to my own style. Words cannot describe how happy I am that I did!
